The tackle was fair, but the sound of the break was horrible. Let's hope that he makes a full and speedy recovery. Up until then, the game was really good, plus some good goals too. I was hoping that the first team squad could have been there to witness the passing, looking for the ball, making space, talking to each other etc - they would have learned a heck of a lot tonight. Had a very quick chat with Copes - top man.
I enjoyed the game before it was abandoned, it was good to see so many old faces. Andy Jones put in a naughty tackle on DerekBrown and unfortunately for Derek he has a compound fracture to his leg.
We will be replaying this game in the spring and would urge as many supporters to come and watch this, as it will probably be a fundraiser for Derek Brown as well
Thanks to everyone that came tonight to support the game and in particular to everyone that stayed behind in the rain to see Del off - cheers boys. He has what looks like a double fracture and was in a great deal of obvious pain. The Charlton physio done an outstanding job looking after Del, so a big thank you to him.
Thanks also to all the players for giving up their free time and playing in the game. It's just a crying shame that such a fantastic fella has sustained such a terrible injury. Del boy is one of the real nice guys in the game and without question a first class player. Gutted.
Thanks for the updates Copes. Was good to see you and the other legends back at PVR. Shame the game had such a sad outcome. Get well soon Del. x BGB and Spitey
