Looking forward to Saturday and this particular game.
Is there going to be segregation and what stands or ends will Welling give us?

Cheers! Thats unusual for our club not to insist on segregation???? They always tend too especially when the crowd should be well over 1500 to 2000!

Having talked to our secretary - he said that he had contacted other clubs and they said that they hadnt

Where else have you been segregated?

I think we wont have any unless the police have got involved late on

I know we have extra stewarding in

Everywhere! Newport....Dover...Bath City...Chelmsford....Worcester City....
These are just a few from what i remember.

I believe the Police insisted on it. Only place where there was no segregation was Basingstoke..... if i remember right.

We segregate all our home games now.

Weird if Welling dont think there to be need for segregation when there could be a 1500 plus crowd.......even 2000!

How would welling segregate it when the ground in present capacity probably holds 3000 safely?

Say Wimbledon had the new stand and one or both terraces that means all welling fans in the old stand.

Have there been any games where your lot have had aggro? The only time you would get aggro is if Millwall gatecrashed the day but i dont think either of the 2 wimbledons have ever had aggro on a big scale have they?

There wont be any trouble caused by Welling and it seems that your lot wont either and if a few decide they want to start i am sure the rest of your away following will stop them.

I think it would basically a logistical nightmare segregating 2000 dons fans when its not all ticket so they have any idea how many are coming and how many of the 3 sides to give you. The gates and barriers are there to segregate but clearly those involved think it isnt neccessary.

You use segregation to prevent anything cropping up.

As for trouble......It has happened against Wallingford.......Coney hall.....Bromley......Aldershot.......Maidstone

we dont segregate for Charlton pre-season, and I dont recall it happening often in the Conference National either, i see no reason for it to happen for AFC. However, if it were to be enforced by the police then it should be AFC that are all segregated where Welling dictate, and not the other way around. Its our home game after all.

the trouble with segregation is that I will have to watch our defence LOL!!!

However we have got the best defensive record in the league so maybe we should more often

Yes it is your home game Kevin and i totally agree that Welling should dictate if segregation is put in place.

But, i dont know what the problem is if your ground holds 3000 and you average 500 a game???

So lets say your home crowd doubles for this game to 1000......there is still lots of room for the 1000 Womble fans with space for another 1000 people if they were to come.

The Club have made enquiries of others and have made the decision not to segregate based on what they have been told and will no doubt have taken advice on the number of stewards they need to engage - end of story unless as MarkX says the police decide to intervene late on.

The ground is on a main road so try to park on one of the side streets. You shouldn't have to walk more than 5 minutes to the ground from your car. !0 mins if it's really busy.

Wow, that was quick! thanks Ben. Advice taken on board.

PS Hopefully we'll all ignore JGFC, you can ignore some of our lot who rise to his bait and we can ALL enjoy a good game of football on Saturday. Shame Quinny is suspended as he would have got a good reception from our fans.

Parking is a bit tight around the ground. The best place if you can't find anything else is behind the Nag's Head pub. It's a one-way system so means coming down Upper Wickham Lane then turn into Springfield Road. Drive down and the car park is in front of you as the road turns right.

It's not expensive and there's loads of room as Welling is now a ghost town since the Co-op and Tesco shut down.

The Nag's Head is probably a better pub than The Guy Earl Of Warwick which is next to the ground. They're both pretty poor though.

id say to park in danson crescent or selwyn crescent - no restrictions and a 5 minute walk to the ground

just check it on streetmap and you'll see how close it is

Millwall are at home to Stockport on Saturday anyway so any knobheads will be at that game as opposed to Welling.

I have to work smile.gif (I work on the football memorablia stand outside Burton in Bexleyheath shopping centre)
