I would be happier for the 25p to go towards the running of the club. It will help to make up for anyone who can no longer afford to attend or cannot be bothered with qualifying round trophy games!

Being pedantic, prices won't drop by 2.5%. They will drop by 2.5% of the price before VAT.

If a ticket costs £10.00 then the ticket is £8.51 and the VAT at 17.5% is £1.49.

By reducing VAT to 15% the ticket still costs £8.51 but the VAT at 15% is £1.26 making an overall price of £9.77 a saving of 23P not 25P.

How many businesses are not going to bother reducing prices and see it as a way of making more profit?

When VAT went up from 15% to 17.5% most businesses just added another 2.5% so they were adding 2.5% to the VAT already paid. Millions must have been made then.

It's a bit like today. Most prices have gone up and if you ask why they say it's the credit crunch.

Why is it that because some bloke in America can't sell his house I have to pay more for a tin of cat food? It doesn't add up.

If you're going to be pedantic at least get it right - the saving would be 21p to the nearest penny.

It might just stop the business who doesn't pass it on from going under!
