Despite the odd dodgy patch Jamie has been a fine servant to Welling, it's a shame we can't keep him as a number 2 - who knows he may have forced his way back into the team.
JT is Welling through and through and it will be a great wrench for him to leave but a keeper with a record as good as his, despite the odd faux pas, would be on the wish list of many clubs. Strange how strikers can regularly fail to score from god given opportunities, midfielders fail to create anything and defenders give away free kicks in crucial areas and yet they are forgiven.
I doubt that Clark Masters record will equal JT's but hey ho that's football. I think Fordy has called this one wrong but I hope I'm proved wrong.
Masters was initially signed for 2 months with a view to a season long loan according to Fordy in the local press but he has now been quoted as saying he is on loan til the end of the season. Perhaps freeing up some money via the departure of JT will allow the season long loan.
I wish JT all the very best for the future be that with Daisy at Dartford or another club in the first instance.

It's a shame it is them that he is going to but I'm sure he will be glad to be back with his old mate Daisy.
The big worry is finding a goalkeeper for next season. He drops the odd clanger but I think he is as good as anyone at Conference South level (although some might disagree).
Have I being watching another team for the last three years ???
JT is a nice bloke. JT has always been supportive of club events. JT is a very good shot stopper. But that is as far as it goes. His decision making is, at times, awful. He makes FAR TOO MANY elementary mistakes.
I wish him luck wherever he ends up and thank him for his service to the club. However, if this club has genuine play off aspirations, then we need a keeper who is more consistent than JT.
Wingnut, Match records don't lie and JT has for the last 3 seasons been one of the top 5 keepers in the Connie South and that includes his appearances this season. Yes throughout that time he has made some real blunders but has managed to achieve that record despite them. Lets face it if he made that many blunders we would be sitting at the bottom of the table alongside Fisher and if he made no errors he wouldn't be playing in the Connie South.
When we go looking for a striker we look for a player whose match records show that he knows where the back of the net is so what is so different about a keeoer?
Personally I don't believe that when there is so much of the season left bringing in a loan keeper for the rest of it fits with building a team for the future. If Fordy doesn't think JT is up to the job then I believe he should have gone out and got a permanent replacement now.

Shame that he had to go, but if Fordy sees things differently, that's up to him. JT has been a good servant to the club and I wish him well in the future.
Our defensive record (this season) has been good and that is not being disputed. I'm not sure the same could be said of earlier seasons but I bow to your superior knowledge of the stats on that.
I remember Pennock saying that JT "could play at a higher level" and was "the best keeper in this league" but I don't much evidence of either of those statements being true.
As I said first time around we are looking at play offs and need the strongest team on the pitch to achieve that aim. I recall the game at H & Y where JT made a clanger and I think my mum could have saved the first one against Wimbledon a few weeks back. Those mistakes (and others had he remained in the team) might just mean the difference between play offs and mid table.
Hes a nice lad, a club man, good shotstopper but Fordy wants someone who wont go awol occaisionally in the box or who wont make howlers. I think its wrong to slag the man off.
Most would say he is a decent keeper when you look at the whole package. Andy wants more than a decent keeper.
Good Luck big man see you at Crayford.

I will proffer the age old chestnut. That a striker that misses 6 half chances a game is equally at fault as a keeper that misses a cross or lets one squeeze past him he should save.
I would also go as far to say there will be more defensive mistakes, balls given away in midfield or absoloute sitters missed per player than clangers by JT over a season.
I would LOVE IT, (just love it) if JT turned round and said.. NO fck this... i'm staying and i will get that shirt back by end of january... It could be the making of him.

Bruno, I cant agree. Turner is a good keeper, usually, but his errors have cost points.
Match records you mention, in my opinion, count for very little. The best defensive record is a reflection on the whole team, not just the goalkeeper. Sure the keeper plays a part, a big part, but the best defence does not automatically mean we have a great keeper. Turner is not the best keeper currently available to us, and as Fordy has said many times in the press, if there is room for improvement then he will make that change. Masters is without doubt a better bet than Turner at the moment, and subject to him not getting recalled and dropping us in the brown stuff then I think this decision makes sense ... and I assume Fordy isnt stupid enough not to have looked into the likelihood of a recall first before making such a bold decision.
Sad to see him go, but no man is greater than the club and we have to trust Fordy's judgement. Masters is yet to put a foot wrong.
I have criticised JT in the past as he has cost us points, but you can't fault his commitment on and off the pitch. He has served us well but times do change. Anyway all the best Jamie at your next club.
