Apart from the London/Kent thing Weymouth are conf national level and BBC Radio Solent don't have that many clubs in the league or higher non-league levels in their patch. They can afford to cover Weymouth i suppose. Perhaps if we got promoted we might get some games live??

Also the game tomorrow is only live on the web (not any radio stations).

Gary its so cheap to broadcast online (I know remember) and no way have they got bandwidth for 1000 listeners at high quality.

Ebbsfleet as you know get all games live and even if we go up Matt Davison wont cover us. Its all Radio hessentaler isnt it. The Head of sport and the station is an utter joke.

Some of their reports LOL, they are like something out of the fast show. I havent even bothered listening for over 6 months. BBC Kent utter waste of space when it comes to being fair in covering clubs. Gutless head of sport there too got his tongue up some very dark crevices.

You could be right about us getting no coverage even if we went up. Be a different story if we weren't part of a London Borough though.

On the streaming side of things it is sort of cheap - tomorrow's match is broadcast via a high'ish quality mobile signal (no ISDN lines at PVR) but the infrastructure behind is very expensive. That's why if 20,000 tuned in tomorrow for Welling v Weymouth it would actually work, all at the same time.

Gary. Andy Garland spoke to me over a year ago as he was interested in Radio Wings broadcasting every match and Radio Kent dropping in when they needed too... He also said that the Beeb would pay for the ISDN at Welling if this happened. But thats just after the banning of the radio and obviously the club said no, As Andy was going to ask Barrie.

What i will tell you as FACT is. I can stream to more people than the beeb want at 8 times or 16 times the quality.

Obviously if they wanted to say right we are going to stream to 100,000 pcs lol they could but...  I can comfortably get 8000 people on at the quality the beeb do online or 1000 people at 320kbps in stereo which even given the beebs ISDN would destroy their quailty for ONLINE broadcast of a game. and i can do that over mobile broadband or wireless or cabled.

I think its the old Kent / London thing again, its seems that with their beloved Frenchies on the rise again, our coverage has got less, over the last few seasons our coverage hasn't been two bad, but this season they have only had reporters at two matches & i think Bromley once, amazing though That they have reporters at most Blackheath rugby matches, thats as much Kent as Charlton!!!!

I've just checked out the BBC Kent Sport website as well.

"Find out Ebbsfleet got on..." is the leader with the link taking you to a general page of scores and scorers.

Pathetic!
