I thought the 1st round proper for the FA Trophy was $4000 - but a great result anyway for the Wings.
I hope Ryan gets well soon, could it be nerves and de-hydration? What League are Nantwich in? Are they likely to pose a major problem?
I hope you all had better weather than over here, it's currently between 0 and -6C here, with snow storms expected through the area overnight and anything up to 6" of snow during tomorrow.
Not sure what happened with Ryan. At first it looked like he was having a laugh with one of the other players then they ran the full length of the pitch with a few others including big chubby Weymouth physio. I then thought maybe they were having a row but when they led Ryan off the pitch his legs were all over the place and he was vomiting. If I had to guess what it was then I'd say he had a fit. It certainly wasn't a pleasant sight.
Credit to all who helped him so quickly and lets hope he's OK and recovers quickly.
Another sad note was one of the Weymouth players broke an ankle and was stretchered off in the first half.
Welling looked in control of the game but every now and then Weymouth had a good chance. A couple of times we cleared off the line and they hit the bar twice. The second was bizzare.
Their forward was one on one with the goalie and lobbed him. The ball bounced behind the goalie and then bounced onto the crossbar and over. Nobody could believe he'd missed and this was with 5 minutes to go. Had it gone in it would have made a very interesting finish.
Brilliant performance all round by the Wings, couldn't fault anyone.
Yeah i wondered what was up with Ryan to. He didn't look so great :( Hope he gets better soon!
Great game in the first half, then Welling basically took it easy in the second half, and let Weymouth back into the game. 262 is a good attendance for a very cold tuesday match in December i think, and it was a cup game as well.
J, I take exception to it possibly having been 15-0
Weymouth were the worst "higher league opposition" team I have ever seen at PVR. I appreciate their squad is threadbare, and hardly that motivated on a freezing night when none of them are getting paid. It also appeared that many of them were little over 1, but all the same, they were awful Yes we could, and should have scored a lot lot more ... Im hoping we dont miss as many chances in the coming league games, as other teams Im sure wont be as generous.
Having said that though, Weymouth should have scored at least 5 themselves, what with them hitting both post and crossbar, and having at least three goal mouth scrambles where anything other than Masters wearinhis heart on his sleeve would have led to us conceeding.
All in all both attacks were on top, Welling deserved the win by a long stretch, but at the same time, lots still to work on I feel.

i would agree with you but we scored two goals - if we werent creating those chances i would worry! and they had a couple of decent chances hitting bar and post but every team you play against has chances and on the whole i felt we were comfortable
we were in control most of the game and if we can play like that against a conf s side we can match anyone - like we did against top of the table chelmsford but were unlucky with the penalty
Yeah a thredabare Weymouth side were still one of the better sides to come to PVR this season so lets no ditract from the fact that it was a great result for the lads last night. Ademola was Man of the match for me, he is deserves to get a run with Brentford soon as he is putting in the effort with a lower level side and this will make him a even better player for the future very much like Sammy Gargan.
Think you'll find it';s away to Nantwich, Cheshire
Not entirely sure how you come by that as Hednesford seem to have won 3-2.
Don't care how many times that one gets abandoned\postponed.
OOps, my mistake ... got result from hearsay. Agree with your comment ... Hedensford is nearly as far as Nantwich. But they are a long established club (1888) and apparently have a superb ground. Well worth the visit.
