Croydon Athletic 0 Welling Utd. 1 2009/02/19 22:41 Karma: -19 The word mugged comes to mind.We were the better team with a mixture of 1st team, reserves and unknowns. The best chances came from Reece Wilson who blasted over an open goal.Substitute Lyle Taylor hitting the post and the ball coming out.Goalkeeper Ross Flitney made some fantastic saves in the game.Near the end Fazackerley runs through our defence to slip the ball home. This was Tuesday all over again and I hate 0-1 HOME defeat scorelines.

Goal scored in 1st of 4 minutes injury time in second half. As their forum states, they hit the post midway through the second half and missed a very good chance about 5 minutes before the end.
After all the problems we have had recently, a special mention for the referee (Ian Bentley) who kept his cards in his pocket and merely warned the players - they apprecaited that.
Sh1t! Is this true? Does anyone know for sure? I'm sure we'd all be VERY p1ssed off if we get kicked out on a technicality!
It's not a technicality mate, it's a fundamental rule. You can't play for two sides in the same cup competition in the same season, applies - as far as i am aware - to all cup competitions.
From the London FA Competitions Rules (off their website)
QUALIFICATIONS OF PLAYERS
5.(c) A player shall not in the same season play for more than one competing Club in any of the individual Cup competitions but the Members of each respective team may be changed during the series of matches.
The only course open to the LFA in the circumstances. No statement on their site as yet to see if there is any action beyond disqualification from this year's competition.
The question 'How did it happen?' has to be asked.

For fook sake. I have been disappointed or frustrated at some things that have gone on this season but this one has actually made me angry. This is a classic schoolboy error. How was this moronic F-up made? Surely it must have clicked somewhere that Loui might have been cup tied, even if they were of the mindset that it's 'only the London Senior Cup'.

100% behind you on that one - surely someone in the club knows the rules?
The club must have known about this soon after cos the fixture in the next round still says TBC on the website. I think the least the can do is post a statement on the website and apologise to the fans.
Sorry to old coach and richard but loui should take some of the blame. Players know you cant play in the same comp for another team. SURE Barrie should have double checked but perhaps he asked Loui? Its a big **** up anyway just aswell its a **** comp.... imagine if its the fa cup! They will have to win the kent cup now wont they?
So i see it as Barrie = fecked up and Loui = fecked up...
at the end of the day, its slightly nausiating but its a p1ss pot comp. Id rather win the kent cup.
