I think we need to make sure Andy Ford (and jimmy dack) stick around next year. I think they have proved what excellent managers they are. I have enjoyed their brand of football this season. They obviously have a vast knowledge of the non-league scene and have unearthed some diamond players as well as persuading some good players to join the club. Full praise to WSU as well for their fund raising efforts which have helped fund some of the new recruits wages. COYW.
Is there a chance that they will leave? I saw this season as the start and winning anything would be a bonus - next season I think that Andy will really want to kick on. By then we should have a far more settled side - he has built a solid foundation already.
Back on subject, i think all the time the club are ambitious and Andy feels he can at least compete then he wil stay.
He seems to fit in really well, he wont take any crap and he wants to win.
Dacky has said in the press they want promotion and whether we get it or not its nice to be aiming that way. Adie was a top man and worked his nuts off but despite inwardly thinking he wanted promotion he wouldnt actively say it to the press.
Its nice for the management (club and team) to be positive, it doesnt mean if they dont get there people will slaughter them. They are trying their nuts off.
Fordy and Dacky are doing a good job, some of the players we have signed are cracking players and characters. Ive also spoke to a couple of players at least at our standard who have both said they would LOVE to play for Welling and that augers well for next season trying to attract better players.
It only takes 3 or 4 wins on the spin to put us right in the mix but most of the players havent been involved in promotion winning sides so Andy has to coaxe them over the line and get them believing in them selves. We need Charlie to get back on fire or Baker to really bust his nuts off and get scoring and one of the midfielders to step up. A little bit of quality for a few weeks will be the difference. Should have got something from Hampton so lets go and rip Hayes to bits and we are another step closer.
