According to Dean we were very poor.
Moses had the chance to win it at the end,rounded the keeper then shot wide.

I think both sides were lucky to get nil.........

They hit the post from a free kick (or rather Charlie Mitten made a finger tip save to touch it on to the post) Sinclair had a header cleared off the line at the end of the first half and Moses did miss a very good chance late on after having done the hard work.

Very disappointing performance all round and there seemed to be no appetite for the game from most of our team. We seemed to be outmuscled for long periods and would have lost had we been up against stronger opposition.

Hopefully we will produce better over the next two weekends against the first and second in the league.............

That  game was the best advert for a quiet Tuesday night in I have seen in a long time.

The early successes and our never having been lower than 9th in the league naturally raises expectations and if we were to secure a play off place these would rise even more but are we as a Club, players and admin, ready for the Conference Premier? I would suggest not this year. The Club has changed substantially over the last year or so and again I would suggest that with the announcement of the academy it is building for the future to ensure that we do not do a Lewes when we do make the premier.

To have spent the season just below or in the playoffs bearing in mind this is Fordy's first full season and that we are a young and mid budget side is quite an achievement and something I'm sure many of us would not have expected at the start of the season. If we were to reach the playoffs I personally would regard that as being the icing on the cake and a good experience for the players.

There are 3 very tough games coming up in the next 2 weeks and whilst I would be very pleased to see us pick up some points I am not expecting too much beyond the players stepping up to the plate and putting in good performances. Failure to gain points in these games would see us in our lowest position so far this season but the remaining fixtures should provide scope for a decent finish to the season.

It is known that I reckon we'll finish 8th (such that I have wagered on it with MarkX!). That would be a reasonable achievement given last year's strife.

Personally I reckon there will be a shakedown coming for a lot of clubs given the financial climate. I wouldn't say we are better placed to survive than others but we are generally used to living largely within our means, we aren't lumbered with 'big club' expectation hokum and, coupled with the job Ford is doing, does give hope for advancement. Extra revenue would be forthcoming from TV if you go up but that is probably offset by the greater travel costs etc. I would view the play offs if we made them as extra revenue as I think we'd have to catch the other two sides playing badly to progress (or in Hampton's case, trying to play!)

There is also the salutory tale of our first season under Reynolds in that you cannot bank on putting on a challenge next year if you voluntarily take your foot off the gas this year. I don't think we will but I don't think we quite have the consistency to make the play offs this year.

I think the end of term report for the club will probably read 'A good effort with plenty of scope for improvement. Self inflicted errors to be eradicated'.
