Having just watched James' highlights of the game on Saturday - I saw those dreaded drums that the Hampton followers kept banging all game. I hate drums and most other musical instruments at games, although I think a grand piano may help with some songs.
Some grounds ban musical instruments - Havant I think may be one - who would be in favour of a ban at PVR?
Instuments/bands etc are fine at the World Cup where it adds to the atmosphere of the spectacle but at a non league match where it is supposed to create support from barely 30 away fans.......nah.
I couldn't agree more. I hate all unnecessary noise especially drums.
The H&R fans also had an unrecognisable chant that was just simply boring and moronic. It sounded like "Red Army, Red Army" etc but seeing as they were playing in blue didn't make sense.
100% in favour of no drums after all as someone said on the BSS forum we dont bounce footballs at concerts. Also as was pointed out to be on Saturday drum sticks in the wrong hands can be classed as leathal weapons!
Most people on the BSS forum are of the same voice and I couldnt agree with them more. I remember Slough turned up one year with what appeared to be a complete Herb Albert section although none of them could play.
Would like to see Bubbles arrive at Maidenhead with his Glokenspiel though

i hate them at all games - i get to as many england home and away games as possible and although the england band is needed at wembley i dont like it at away games
so for non-league games they are totally pathetic - a drum echoing around an quiet ground just sounds stupid
Too true and can we add air horns to that as well - they should be shoved where the sun don't shine
They can be useful on occasion as the 8 of us in at the crunch game at Leek might testify. Certainly allowed us to be louder than the 400 home support when we were under the low tin roof. They freeze your hand off in the end though!

Rod Stewart used to. But then he thinks he's Scottish despite being born in Finchley
