Hi, A load of us are travelling to next Saturday's game by train - a match which might well confirm relegation for us! Just wondering, what pubs in Welling can you recommend? Kind regards
Your welcome to drink in the clubhouse for starters.
Going from the station you could really look forward to the game by visiting the Plough and Harrow on the right, The New Cross Turnpike on the right, the Nags Head on the left, the Rose on the left, and finally the Guy Earl of Warwick on the right.
Choices are personal but the Turnpike is a cheap pint as a Weatherspoon and the Guy is a good tradional pub with a good sized screen for sports.
Enjoy the day, hope you are with us next season but not at our cost
I would be sad to see Bognor go - I like the trip down there - even without the club house!! Best burgers in the league imo.
It seems a long time since most of the relegated clubs weren't saved one way or another so they shouldn't give up hope,
Any else notice BKK intimate knowledge of the pubs in Welling.
I understand that the folk who drank with him in Maidenhead on Saturday saw a side to him that they had never seen before ............. his insides after 8 pints!!
Of course you would be able to name every nail parllour? Its called a decent walk to the ground but then of course if you attend the afternoon tea parties in Bromley what would you know?
A small scooner of sherry was had and was needed after the events of the day.
Don't bother with The Plough, it's full of t*****s! Newcross Turnpike in the high street would be best for cheap drinks and some grub and then on to either Nags Head or The Guy next to the ground.
If you go to the Turnpike and you like lager then try the Zywiec Beer from Poland. It's the nicest lager I've had for ages.
Having said that, I've been to Makro's today and got a case of Toohey's New and Toohey's Extra Dry at £15.99 per case. They had Coopers and VB too but they were too expensive.

Ah, Good old Toohey's Extra Dry. I always went for a pint of TED when I was living in Oz. And as for Brian King's Knee's knowledge of the pubs in Welling.......could he really be News Shopper columnist Pubspy?!
No mate I wouldnt lower myself to such a role, bloke sems to be a complete spanner from what I read.
As above I occassionally have a small sherry after the game at the Wetherspoons, if its anything like the performance at the weekend I will be the bloke crying in me pint

ha, ha, never read anything soooooo funny.
What counts as "A load" of Bognor fans, 4?
Enjoy your trip because it is the last time you lot will ever get to play welling in a league game. It has been pretty embarassing really with Bognor and Fisher such whipping boys, shouldn't happen at this level.
Pity as I was looking forward to coming to your clubhouse next season lol lol

4 fans???? Well you're not far off in the respect theres a 4 in the number, as on the eve of the game, it appears theres 14 of us coming by train (it might even rise by then, lol). Then theres those that go by car etc....... so i'm guessing there'll be 16 of us there!!!
Mr anon, thanks for your comedy. To everyone else, thanks for the suggestions and see you there. And yes, we will also spend a fair amount behind your club bar too (seeing as we can't do it at our own).
