Just had a look on Hampton's official website and apparently (according to themselves) they received glowing reports from the FA Conference Committee and the local Health & Safety Officers who attended the Home game with AFC on Saturday.
You can just imagine the negotiations with the Conference "Why not come along to our jolly game on Saturday where the capacity will be 700 less than the minimum requirement and verify that yor rules arent necessary and they can be ignored for us whilst you enjoy our tea and crumpets"
If their comments are correct then it would inidcate that the rules (if what has been widely published are the rules) can clearly be breached with some sneaky negotiations and hospitality thrown in.
This really sticks in the throat. Obviously I want us to make the play offs but even if we didnt I would rather Bath take the slot than a club that ignores the rules.
I agree with an earlier post that states the club and indeed us fans should be making our feelings felt on this
Can our local press chap stir things up a bit to prevent this potential rule breaking pass through un-noticed?
IMO thats what we should do .... so chaps ... the rules state we would be eligible and we would want our rights to be granted should we win. No need for going mad but let them know they cant just do the dirty and we will say jolly good as you were.

Also they had to have Planning Permission in by April 1st? And they didnt have any in. What really ****************************** me is... These clubs (LEWES included) spend eff all on the ground to enable them to spend more on the budget so they are CHEATS and then they want the rules broken. I hope the conference doesnt make itself look an amateur corrupt league and they uphold their rules. We MUST stand up for ourselves but do it in the right way and i am sure the club will tell the conference we want the play off spot should we win on saturday. In the rules of the league it is ours (Or Bath City's) if we finish in the spot behind the play offs and Maidenhead.
Barrie is not a man who will ever go screaming at people which is a good thing, it would be nice if Messers Panting and Green could get some clarification on the situation and the clubs thoughts ahead of the big game.

totally agree and it is a form of cheating - but i bet the league give them an extension in the timescale
I don't understand how they can get an extension. The play offs are next week and the earliest they can get planning permission is the 30.4.09 when the Council meeting takes place which is after the play offs. I would have thought Barry should write to the league asking for clarificatin about the Hampton situation and ask the league to confirm that they had all the necessary planning permissions in place by the date set up by their rules. If they haven't then they should confirm that Hampton won't be allowed to enter the play offs.
