Do Hampton deserve to be in the playoffs........................?

Fair enough they are second in the league and would not be where they are if they were a poor side but there are rules and regulations in place with regards to the grounds which have clearly not been followed.
They have missed the deadline which was set for planning applications so they should not enter the playoffs. Simple.
Rules are there for a reason (and no, the reason is not for them to be broken).

Do we deserve to be in the playoffs..........................?

Probably not, otherwise we would have accumulated enough points over the course of the season to be in there already (and should have done).
However, if there is that tiny glimmer of hope that we can get into the playoffs through the poor management of another club then of course we are going to get excited about it.

If the conference give Hampton the grading, then fair play, they have had a great season.

If they don't, they have learnt there lesson and it will be a great opportunity for us.

Hang on shouldn't that be our ground was up to scratch because the decision has already been made. Will be up to scratch sounds a tad worrying to me. You don't deserve to be in the play offs if you don't comply with the rules of the competition.

And you have spent your money on players rather then getting your ground up to standard. Welling have done it the right way balanced the ground and playing budget. If we go into the play offs because Hampton are ruled out then it is deserved. We will have gained our points fairly unlike Hampton.

great post - couldnt agree more

but if it's true that officials from the fa were wined and dined at hampton at the weekend then they will get an (another)extension of the deadline

we all know how footballing decisons are really made

Hampton have got no chance of getting the ground grading  They fail on the first line:

The ground must give an overall appearance and impression of being a football ground suitable for the highest Division of The National League System.

Their ground is no better than Whyteleafe's in my opinion. If the Beveree ground is good enough for the BSP how can Cambridge City's not even be up to BSS standard.

Hi All,

Please see this link regarding Kings Lynn's ground.
This has to be the same situation as Hampton & Richmond's ground??
Kings Lynn have also been relegated for not having the grading

If Kings Lynn is not fit for Conference football then Hampton have not got a hope in hell and then again nor have about 4 or 5 other gorunds in this league.

I reckon it all comes down to whetehr teams have pissed the conference off, the league obviously have there favourites and KL aint one of them.

Unless KL has changed radically since I last went there I find that decision a bit difficult to believe. However with Woking, Lewes and Weymouth all likely to come down, Worcester allegedly having an agreement they don't have to move north next year, that could leave two of Braintree and Bishops Stortford or Stalebuns looking north.

Can we either have it that everyone is expected to abide by ALL the rules or we can tear them all up and 'decide it on the pitch' and if that means hopeless overspending, supposedly ineligible players and playing on the nearest piece of waste ground, at least we all know what the score is at the START of the season.

exactly and why we are at it we might as well make the home team's goal wider and allow fans to dictate offside decisions

if they are allowed up it is a farce and i will lose even more faith in the footballing authorities
