I can remember disliking Dover with a passion when they used to be in our league but must admit was a bit hazey about why it was so intense.
The postings of recent days by their fans and press releases on their own website have brought it back oh so clearly. They really are the most arrogant bunch of you know whats you could ever come into contact with.
The latest comment from "Hess" that Sherringham "would have signed in seconds" shows total contempt for our club. How do you work that one out Hess?
Can I suggest that Charlie and probably just as much his agent were keen to ensure that the club he plays for next year are able to honour the players contract and pay the agent's commission, and not the 60p in the pound that has been known to happen in the past.
Chalrie might also be thinking I want to play for a manager that has got a team promoted to the Conference National (as it was then known) before rather than a guy who has a win rate as a manager of 33% at Conference SOuth Level or above.
Whilsy on the subject of Charlie, lets not be too harsh on the guy to speaking to another club in May. He clearly will have an agent working for him who will be making the calls to see who is interested and will be persuasive in guiding Charlie as to who he should perhaps hear out.
I think it is encouraging that he has given the two fingers to Les Arrogants on the NW Coast of France and hope he stays.
Louis had discussions with Histon (admittedly a higher club) but choose to stay and sometimes speaking to other teams can ultimately make your decision to stay an even stonger one. Thats said my opinion would change if Charlie's potenital re-signing dragged on into June.
Anyway lets get ready for another season of Radio Gillngham with its side kick Radio Dover / Ebbsfleet and look on in awe at the spectacular rise of Dover who "Every player want to sign for!" Here's hoping that every player who doesn't enjoys stuffing those arrogant pillocks every week
Read the statement about the change of Directors at Dover and the Chairmans comments! I cracked up.
The thing with Dover is THEY THINK THEY ARE A BIG CLUB. Both the Board (whats left of it) and the Fans.
We have our own thoughts. Thats what grates me the way they all act on and off the pitch! We should stuff them twice next year.
Agree tbf with what you say about Charlie, just would have liked him to say, loved it this year can see Fordy can get us challenging and im happy to have another season of development and if a big club come in then i will decide.
Talking to Stortford is a bit of a p1ss take as we are a great bet to finish above them again. Plus talking to other clubs and ignoring the offer rom the current team will always be seen as a bit of a slap in the face for the team he played for and has been offered a contract for..
Parky is just as likely as Charlie to get a move to a League club IMO and he was happy to commit to us after a good season. If Charlie has turned down Dover then well done lol.
I hope Charlie phones Fordy ASAP and says i will sign but can i have a clause if a league club comes in that i can go for 35k and a sell on etc.. 30k is nothing considering that Morison is going for a reported 250k. Welling have NEVER stopped a player from going to a league club to my knowledge and they go with the clubs blessing.
If Charlie signed quickly along with the ones that have, the rest probably will and Fordy can then fill the gaps while the players are available.
Brings a new point... Should players you think are good enough be given or offered a 2 year deal at our level? Or do you just have to put up with it that some can just walk away.
Once again i will put forward that the tribunal fee could be considerably more than Stortford could dream of. Strikers cost money.... Young strikers cost a lot of money and the sell on clause is likely to be hefty too. If Stortford were to offer a fee i would hope welling would say get stuffed unless it was 25k and a 20% sell on minimum. he HAS to go for more than keds, he scored more goals and is younger.

I don't see where all this anti Dover feeling comes it. Looking at it from a detached view Dover had a striker retire (Grazoli) thru injury. Thus they look for a another striker. Charlie is out of contract so clearly is a potential target albeit with potential baggage of compensation payment. Dover fans speculate as to players they would like to attract as do all clubs fan sites.
It is the "would have signed in seconds" comment that is arrogant. Together with the rattlings on about how big a budget they have. Instead of spashing the cash on players, why don;t they pay the people and businesses who wer short changed by the "Old Dover". Of course I forgot this is a totally new club that has nothing to do with the old one!!!
Can I suggest that Charlie and probably just as much his agent were keen to ensure that the club he plays for next year are able to honour the players contract and pay the agent's commission, and not the 60p in the pound that has been known to happen in the past.

When Ford got Gravesend promoted to the Conference non-league football was a lot different to now. Wings fans should know that more than most. Surely you must realise that the Conference National now is a completely different league to the Conference you and Dover were in ten years ago. As for Hess only having a win rate of 33% at Connie South level or above (PMSL) you should write speeches for politicians (or become our accountant!) with a mind for manipulating figures like that. His 33% win rate was in the Championship with a club paying League One wages so I don't think he did too bad really. As far as Sheringham goes as i've said in another post the fact that nobody bigger than Bishops Stortford is in for him will mean that his fee (if set by tribunal) will be nowhere near what you got for Kedwell. Kedwell was a much more rounded player and you could also argue with him you had much more to do with his development as he came from Kent League football and improved rapidly. I don't think you can say the same with Sheringham - he's been reared at a league club, never played lower than Conference South and will probably never play higher than Conference South if Bishops Stortford is the height of his ambition.
Its the arrogance of Hess, ive never liked him even when he was at Watford. He wasnt that great at Dartford as a player. And is lauded as some king of Ronaldinho by the masses.
The quotes he comes outwith are champions league material lol.
I could have won ryman1 and ryman prem on Dovers budget.
Do you really think he went to Dover because of the fans or the ground? LOL
He went because he was getting a great wage and a massive budget.
Dover are doing ok short term, but the CVA stuff and the begging to this splashing of cash and trying to buy success again so soon just makes them look ***** to some. They have NO RESPECT for anyone with their statements and comments. They are a small club, who have won a pub league and have had financial troubles. I see them as another Fisher, Weymouth, Hornchurch etc etc.
I really hope we tonk you in both games.

Oh sorry, I seem to have embellished the story a bit. Difficult to tolerate the whining when it all went wrong last time as it wasn't as if they didn't know what to look for as supporters and ensure it didn't happen again after the first time. And then they're off on the third circuit.....
If it had been VCD they would get the same response from me.
They have always been arrogant. I remember when they were in the conference and they were going on about going through it and up to the league. And as can be seen from the Sheringham situation they need to pay more to players to get them to travel to the dump that is Dover.
