He has ability but his attitude will stop him from being a consistent player, he likes a drink and likes to be jack the lad, that is why Chelmo have let him go...

Fordy is the master when it comes to being firm and strict with his players he will have known of that and I think he will bring out the best in Peanut

What like with Ming - the jury is out

Ming had more good games than bad games last season. Maidenhead away is the only game I can think of where is attitude was all wrong. Fordy would not have kept Ming on if he thought his attitude was poor.

With the pace of Ming and Hurrell on the wings, a six foot plus striker who is good in the air was always going to be a necessity.

Lets hope this proves to be a good signing ... a little concerned he was "not deemed good enough" to play upfront at Chelmsford, but then maybe, like with Stevie G for example, its another case of his flexibility being his main downfall ... who knows. Certainly someone able to play in more than one position is a great asset at this level.

What is a positive sign is that the Chelmsford fans seem to highly rate him. Cant see him playing anywhere but as striker myself let's hope and and Clarke hit it off. I would still like us to give the guy from Erith Town a chance you cant ignore 33 goals in one season al be it was in the kl

and at 19 Im guessing he is only going to get bigger, better, quicker, stronger ... better coaching, playing with better players, more supply. Could work well. Fordy is on it anyhow.

Also, could do a lot worse than re-sign Adam Cotterill seeing as he is at Erith Town too. Played for us for a while and then got s**t on by Neil Smith, has played at Gravesend, Erith and Welling so clearly a local lad, doesnt cost much on the wage bill, can play right-back, right-mid and centre-mid, quick too. Worth a pre-season I would have thought ...

Agree with the cottreil thing he went welling school and lives local, he was in the Charlton ressie side and what i remember off him he was a top centre back and agree Smith did him over.
While we are on the subject anyone for a Ross Lover - i have heard something on the grapevine watch this space?

So if we have Ming and Lawson in the same side and they get the hump with each other during a game then we could have our very own Hales v Flanagan scenario at PVR ?!

Wasn't Lover the bloke who played 45 mins in a pre season game last year and was never seen again ??

I like the sound of this Lawson fella (and the Chelmsford fans seem to rate him too) but don't want too many loose cannons in the squad...........

yeah, Lover "failed to settle" or some rubbish like that .. signed a contract then we agreed to tear it up within 10days.

I can see there being some real passion this coming season, lots of people with "att-a-tood", hope it doesnt spill over into in-fighting and red cards though.

Ming's attitude was poor in more games than Maidenhead. The abuse he gave some of his team mates at Braintree was poor. Worst of all was what he said to the ball boy at an away game (Eastleigh?). Lots thought he should be sacked. I think he is a real talent and does good things at this level but whether or not Fordy has him sorted - we'll wait and see.

I think this is an excellent signing, along with some additional squad members, we need a central defender (Just read an article the Leberl thought about retiring so no great loss!) Rob Gilman would be a great signing though and I would like to see a creative midfielder and a tough tackling centre mid come in.

Another good signing by Fordy, Whatever you think you can see the man is TRYING to bring quality players to the club. before he came all we got was lower league players.

Well done Fordy have a good holiday. (get them out the way before the season lol )

Does this move mean that Hockton wont be signing?

I read on a local rag website for Stortford that he wont be joining them

I may have to eat my words but am not sure about this peanut lad -

41 games 2 goals in his early league career, and the Chelmsford fans are upset because they have lost a good defender he didnt really get a go up front so not exactly getting to excited ...... we will see.

I think you are in the minority but we will see, delighted Faz has signed I can see him playing a floating role just behind front two with Ming and Hurrell on wing, definitely need a strong centre mid and a centre back, it's coming together nicely though in what id a difficult league this year, roll on 8th July.

Andy says Lawson is mobile and big and is here to score goals. We do have a back up plan that he can play full back and midfield.

Looks a good signing. Plenty of football League games and hes only young.

As has been said, a quality center midfielder, a defender and we arent far off being ready to rumble and its still a few weeks till they come back for pre season.

Another player signing in the next few Days ?

There are no downfalls to Stevie G he's Footballer of the Year by the way.

While we're at it no thanks to Cotterill he was very ordinary.

Good to see Loui back on board as he offers omething a bit different at this level.

Now think we need to improve the spine of the team with a commanding centre back and AT LEAST one central midfield player as we only seem to have Ryan Johnson who can play there at the moment ??

Not sure about Gillman (despite the efforts of his agent Kevin) as he was taken apart in the Boxing Day game at Hayes Lane. Also can't say that I was that impressed with Cotterill during his brief stint at PVR.

agent Kevin reporting for morning duty !! Gilman was the only player Bromley had on Boxing Day !! Stick him in a good, stable side and I promise you, more than good enough at this level.

Hasnt he p1ssed off once before? from us? Didnt he go and sign for someone else? When we were interested in him? Hasnt he been playing for crap teams lately?

Think hes a bit of a has been thats never done it. I would bank on Andy to find better and more improvement to come.

He was on trial with us under the Parker days, didnt get a single minute of game time until the final game of pre-season against Charlton, someone was injured, he got thrown on with not long to go, and had never played with anyone in a Wings shirt, and found himself marking a certain Darren Bent.

He has been Bromleys player of the year last year and Bishop Stortfords player of the year the year prior, lives in Sidcup, is as good as, or dare I say, better than, Sinclair. Sign him.

What a shyte site that is, mambo, slow to load, rarely covers welling. And he was begging for thousands a year in sponsorship. Wasnt he banned from Bromley and Dover for something too?

I think your being a little a harsh on the bloke who runs the Kentish football site jgfc. He seems to be a volanteer who runs the website out of his own pocket and occasionaly he runs exclusive interviews, stories etc unlike the waste of space on bbc gillingham/dover who run stories two weeks out of date despite having full time employees.

Chris, i just dont forgive the incessant commercial begging hes done.

PLUS the gaps between any meaningful welling articles are huge.

IMO its a terrible site save for the very rare bit of new news.

On that note, Fordy is signing another striker today?

Kent on line is EXCELLENT, and has match reports up the same day, also has many exclusives (along with the Newsshopper)

Of course they are commercial, but he is trying to be too, by begging. Over a year , kentonline has regular content on the wings , his site goes months without a word on the Wings and is very hit or miss..

No need to respond, i am just replying to your post.
