I find this is slightly worrying news. I fear the club will struggle to find a sponsor in these times unless it has a few contacts that we do not know about.
How about having 'San Siro' on the roof. EDF Energy may be worth approaching, based in Bexleyheath. GMB union, don't they have an office next door? But I'm sure these would have already been approached. It's not as if the club have just found out.
definetly offer the name of the ground and maybe we can even get more money in than coombes were paying
and we need more fundraising - and as ive always said how about selling signed merchandise in the shop or even get the players to sign a few of the programmes and sell them for £5 instead of £2 - id pay extra and it wont cost the club anything
How about sponsorship from the London Borough of Bexley ( in occupied Kent)? Dartford pay a peppercorn rent of £1. What about a very low, nominal, rent for the ground for three years which would count as a sponsorship? If other clubs can get local authority funding for improved/new stadia, surely the council can come up with a deal for the Borough's premier club - and advertise its services on the fence/wall outside which can be seen from major bus routes etc.

Having a patnership with Bexley Council could be beneficial for both parties. I would assume that the Council's budget for advertising has already been made and spent. I would guess that they would have been approached already.
I think we all know Bexley Council don't give two figs about Weling United. They've can't even be bothered to empty our bins every week now so I doubt they'd want to spend any extra money on the club.

Being a business Welling would have to pay for the bins to be emptied, either by a private company or the council if they do that sort of thing. Therefore the clubs contract with its waste disposal contractor would stipulate the level of collection. I am sure 90% of Councils dont care about the local clubs except when they can generate revenue for the authority (rates etc).

I'll lay money that the Council's money was already spent 2 months before their budget for this finacial year was made.
Getting money out them for anything is akin to getting blood from a very large stone.

All very true but I was referring to the bins of the tax paying residents of Bexley. It's just that me and my family have had a lot of bother with them over refuse collection etc and we're fed up with their 'we'll get back to you later' attitude.
Just a suggestion but couldn't the club put the follwing up for sponsorship; The main gate = Trigger's Gate The Executive Lounge = Trigger's Lounge Downstairs bar = Trigger's Bar Main stand = Trigger's Stand And there's many more that could be used.
Sorry to disappoint you but for those of us who were born prior to the great census of 1215 there were no birth certificate published. So I don't actually know. Hang on a mo, I'll go and ask my mum who it was.
