Kingsmoor Whats the benfit another team gone?

I am aware its a community thing and this is absolutely nothing against the hobbins, more highlighting the inadaquacies of kingsmoor.

Am i right in saying the 16s from 2 years ago had one year at 18 and left and that last years 16s have left aswell. We also lost the best youth team weve had in recent years that Ken coached due to conflicts with Kingsmoor

If the players are not going to be developed enough so that when they reach first team age that we get one or two, if they are just going to hit 17 and 18 and go.

then i have to question why we are keeping it going.

Especially with the new academy that will benefit Fordy now and the reserves, although as i have stated the capital league or suburban would be much more beneficial in bringing players back to fitness but thats not a kingsmoor thing just an aside.

Back on subject, as they are just not bringing any players through and the teams are leaving on hitting 17 and 18 should we say thanks but on your way to Kingsmoor and let the academy have a feeding system of under 15s and 16s only managed by the club?

Hello JgFc, the final point that you made sounds sensible, however, quality players from the the age of U13's are playing in the Kent League. In my opinion it would be difficult to attract quality players to a team with no track record. Good players who may have had a bad experience with strong teams will be looking to join other Kent League teams or A division teams outside this league, why join Welling?
Is Kingmoor an isolated incident or is there a trend of team of this age group closing down?

I'm possibly talking a load of nonsense as per usual.

It isn't uncommon for team to fold at 16+ age groups. I played youth football in the Tandridge league from under 8's to under 17's with the same club but we folded as we were playing with 10 men or whatever as interest dipped when you all start going out on the lash the night before games etc

Currently does Kingsmoor run the U16's and U18's? If so i think the club should really run these teams in the county league, with Kingsmoor taking care of the younger ones. This way Andy et al can keep a closer eye on the youth teams feeding the senior ones and have input into who coaches them, manages them etc As i get the impression that it is rather seperate Kingsmoor being run independently under our banner? I could be wrong as I dont know the ins and outs but maybe if the club had full control over the U16's + U18's then we might see a few more coming through.

The idea of Kingsmoor isn't to produce first team players, but to bring football to all levels of the community and spread the Welling United name.

That's why all players get free season tickets, and are Welling United YOUTH.

The Kent League teams, run on a seperate entity, are to develop player for the first team. But they're not Welling United Youth and don't get free season tickets.

Agree with a lot of that.

For all the badge holders kingsmoor say they have they simply are not producing any players and are disbanding when they reach 16 17 18.

If the club took the 16s and overs then the good ones can be brought on and developed.

IF it can be done just by having trials for the 16s each year and then having 16 17 and 18s teams i wouldnt have the 7-15 yr old teams or kingsmoor.

For me they simply have to develop players or we are better off cutting loose from them.

As I understand it.....

A number of last years U18's are currently in pre-season with the reserves and Marco from last years under 18's played on Wednesday night.

Does that seem like a waste of time?....not to the players involved I'd suggest.

Unfortunately the U16's from last year have decided to see if their futures could be progressed eleswhere.

One player gets a run out in the first pre season game when we have injuries and holidays? Last years 16s? The 16s the year before? Both gone? How many first teamers have they produced? Or how many regular reserve team players? Are you suggesting they have been successful in developing players for the club?

LOL i am actually laughing at that response.

Oooh just seen this.

The kent league teams arent Welling United youth, but they are the teams to develop players.

Again, do we then need Kingsmoor? I thought Jim Dean was community officer? Is that just a white elephant and basically hes just someone in Kingsmoor taking the Community Officer name?

I'm more confused than ever now about the Welling United Youth with Kingsmoor set up if what anon has posted is true.  The KYL sides have certainly to date been regarded as part of the community based Welling United Youth with Kingsmoor when the list of teams have been produced and they have always been included in update reports.

Did something change at this years AGM?

Perhaps someone from WUY with K could clarify.
