Once again last night some lovely football to watch and some good passing movements but I still think we lack a bit of strength and power at the back and in midfield.
Andrews and Parkinson are good athletes and decent footballers at this level but I'm not sure they are "nasty" enough for a season of Blue Square South football. Also feel we need a holding player in midfield with a bit of muscle as well.
Ming and Hurrell showed up well last night and also quite impressed with first view of Clarke who definitely has a touch of class about him.
Thought Knight looked good at the back and much needed experience. Not sure if we need to get nasty to be honest, if we do the Protheroe could play centre half and is quite a big player.
As for holding midfielder the guy who played the first half in centre mid looked good to me in that role. He was composed and looking to play the ball without rushing.
Ming and Hurrel both looked very quick and fit as did much of the squad. Good sign this early into pre-season.
Its pre season i couldnt care if we look rusty and a bit week in one or two positions, this will be seen by Andy and he can Act, he has a few to bring in and hopefully 1 will be a midfielder and 1 will be a center half.
Dont forget if Sambrook and Proths are fit then that could free up Jack for Midfield and sort that issue.
We really arent far away from being there.

I trust that Fordy will address these issues in due course.
Neither Sambrook or Protheroe are centre halves. I would have thought that if the two lads who played the last half hour at centre back are genuinely being considered then they perhaps would have started last night.
The fact remains that the likes of H & R and others are very physical sides and we needs a couple of strong(er) players to supplement the current squad.
