Looks like Bromley are after Marcus Cassius. I would have liked to have us take a punt on him but a four figure fee for someone untested at this level is probably beyond our budget.

why pay out silly money for cassus when the player who came on and scored on saturday v gillingham has better pedigree and will probably be abetter signing as a back-up striker

If you read my post you'd see I said "a four figure fee for someone untested at this level is probably beyond our budget" i.e. we wouldn't nor shouldn't do it.

I just believe that he looks a good prospect and as I have said before Kedwell came from the very same division having scored less in a better team than Cassius! However Kedwell came on a free. I was just pointing out that he could be lineing up against us next year for Bromley.

And Kev, Berkley did play for us, think it may have been during the Parker era.

I'm sure we would want money if we were selling a good prospect. Unfortunately we are not really in the market to pay for someone untried at this level. I agree that Hobbs may be a better option.

Berkely came with Parker from Chelmsford, along with Slatter, Lay and Street. He played for E&B&Q for a while. Is he at Erith Town now?

Berkely wasn't bad but dived a lot.

Ahhh Austin Berkley

I remember a great goal he scored when he ran round the back of the net to celebrate and tripped over the support lines

Classic

Funny how those things stay with you

Like Wayne Browns goal at Chelmsford (Billericy) to keep us up right over the head of the defender that was more botheredby the abuse he was getting instead of watching the corner
