I guess those clubs who maintained their budgets are doing well - or are they? Always a difficult choice for clubs like Welling on limited resources. A few injuries and we are in the sh*t. My weird logic suggests that clubs that cut their budgets have to be lucky - and we are far from that at the moment. No point having a club in the black if it does not do well - otherwise gates go down and so, ultimately, will the club but, of course, it will still exist. I know, easy to make this assumption after two games and lots of bad luck. But the bottom line is that Andy needs dosh to maintain a side that will stay in this league and, hopefully, reach the play-offs - and in this current climate I have not a clue from whence it will come. Are we any nearer to having a sponsor?
I guess this will be a good year to have a Cup run, and I don't mean the Ksc.

We have a budget that means shouldn't be playing like a relegation team. Fingers crossed thee are 3 sides worse than us. I thought Thurrock might be one but obviously not, and they are ****.
A relegation battle is a real possibility this year.
Lets not jump the gun here. It's two games in and we are already talking about relegation we matched Woking for 75 minutes on Saturday and they are one of the favourites. I wont lie I expected us to get 3 points tonight but we didn't and we were very average at best but there is lots of time to make points up so lets not start talking about relegation now please.
We have been very unlucky with injuries and it is not helping us at the moment, although that is no excuse for tonight which was poor.

Woking aren't a particularly good side so I don't know how you can think matching them for 75 minutes is in anyway a good thing when we were eventually beaten by the better side.
Tonight we played one of the worst sides in the league that will be down there come April and again lost to the better team.
Thankfully we have a decent manager, hopefully he'll find decent players.
Fingers crossed there are 3 teams capable of producing a bigger pile of **** than I witnessed tonight.
Its early in the season, Andy said we are behind. the players he has brought in will not be in danger of being relegated, the budget has allowed him to bring in lots of proven players so lets not hear that excuse from Andy or any of the fans. if we are light go bring in one or two of the academy for a game or two. However the success of the season depends on a few of them... Minton, Clarke, Sambrook, Mitten leading from the front and getting the others (younger lads) buzzing and performing. The slower we are to hit stride then it will be harder for them to get into the top half of the table and play with no pressure. Andy said he never bollocked them after Woking. Lets see how long he will keep the kid glove treatment going. Its time they stood up now, theyve had two matches and although only losing by the odd goal each time, they lost. Heres to them bouncing back for the next game and one or two of them stepping up to the plate. Sounds like Clarkey is doing ok so good signs there considering he actually has an excuse to be a bit rusty. But for people to talk about relegation and being sh1t after 2 losses is hilarious. When these boys click you will be made to look stupid. The squad isnt a relagation squad, it one that needs to gel and bed in. That has to happen sooner rather than later though after the start to the season.
Over to you Andy

Fair enough, Tom. But we are running out of bodies! Two centre backs out, Finn and now Faz and, of course, the tragic early season injury to James Lawson. Surely it must be a drain on our budget to replace players with long-term injuries, especially as Andy says he has gone for a smaller, quality, squad. The point I am making is that dosh is needed to maintain the quality in the side missing through injured squad members.

I agree there is no need to panic and I also trust Andy Ford to look at the deficiencies within the squad and rectify that. All teams suffer with injuries at all levels of football and we have to cope with that like everyone else.
However there were some disturbing signs last night. We could, and probably should have been 2 down before they scored. The first goal was a short goal kick from them and five touches later it is in our net without anyone of our players getting anywhere near it. The second goal was a joke and, for the third one, you could have driven a bus (not for the first time on the night) through the centre of our defence. Yes we have a lot of new players and a few injuries but that is no escuse for poor marking, poor passing and generally being bullied out of the game. If we are honest the final scoreline flattered US more than it did them.
As I said no need for panic stations but plenty more questions than answers based on last night's "performance"

F*ck me, I actually agree with something you said! lol
He's right chaps, lets not panic just yet, a loss to one of the favourites for promotion and a minor blip last night. It'll come, lets hope it's sooner rather than later agreed, but Fordy know what he's doing. No point worrying 2 games in, teams can have good starts and then screw up. I'm sure you all remember Hull's season last year???
Its simple, and this is where Andy has c0cked up... Going into the last week having done NO work on shape, NONE on set pieces etc etc is absolutely shocking. Forget Millwall game thats brought in funds.
But to admit that we have done absolutely no tactical training a week before kick off is just bad managing and putting us behind the 8 ball. Andy is a very very good manager but hes fecked up there massively.
He will get us going within the next 2 games.
The one thing all wings fans want to see v bath is a bit of effort, some passion and the players knowing what they are doing.
