Traveled to staines today and watched the game ,it started off a little slow but hard work paid off in the end .No it was not a win but they did not lose ether, well done to all the lads at welling.
Charlie kept us in the game with his saves in first 20 mins - i think hobbs would have scored 1 or 2 of them chances
SORRY But Rob Hughies in OPEN play and postioning is not good enough, one of the reasons for improvement in 2nd half . (this also applied when against 9 men of st albans)
With everyboby fit / available my starting ELEVEN would be
MITTEN
ANDREWS SAMBROOK PERKINS KING HASWELL
PARKINSON CRACKNELL HURRELL
HOBBS CLARKE
anybody else got a preference

Bit harsh on Rob, he is still finding his feet. Of course he shouldnt be handled with kid gloves but there were a few not pulling their weight in the first few games or under performing.
Rob will probably go from strength to strength keep getting behind him. I know for one if i was smashed senseless by gutless people to within an inch of my life, my confidence would be low. Get behind him and encourage him and if he is not upto the required standard in a month or two then its up to Andy to sort it. Give the guy a chance. He can obviously play. Perhaps he needs to convince himself he can play but to come so far so soon, suggests theres a lot left up his sleeves when he settles in properly and gets a bit of confidence back.

I thought Rob had a very good game against St Albans. Since Lee Blackburn left we've had no one with decent crosses but Rob set up Lee Clarke's goal and put in some great deliveries.
I think the supporters team has two better centre halves than him.
I think Haswell needs to step up his performances as well. AF gave him the big build up when he signed and he now has four games under his belt. After the trials and tribulations of the last 12 months. Hughes needs some time to find his feet - not sure he wouldn't be better employed in the centre of midfield.
I felt Mitten, Perkins and Clarke had decent game at the weekend. Hurrell is giving it his all in an unfamiliar position and you can't fault the work rate of Hobbs either. Finn was the major plus and definitely made a difference in the second half.

Can either Sambrook or Dean play on the left ?.....
No Finn is a winger, h e causes damage when he runs at players. Clarke and Hobbs upfront is perfect with Hobbs doing all the running and Clarke as the fox in the box type

re Bubbles comment with regards my comment to N & D note - Sambrook or DEAN on left : my request was who for
With regards later N & D comment "its for Fordie to decide" CORRECT This is a bit of fun - We all would pick different ENGLAND teams, which is good to listern to different suggestions and ideas
Other Welling forum members and anoymous have suggested we should be kinder to Rob Hughes because of he's CRUEL attack. If he still needs time to recover, this should be in the reserves or further down the pyramid to gain he's confidence. In the games i have seen he has never headed a ball. If Robs inclusion effects the overall position of the team, it is ANDY head on the line

I agree Rob needs to improve on certain things like tackling players etc but like you said he was attacked and lucky the poor lad is still alive lets give him time to be able to header the ball and get behind him and support him.
TO B K K - I have not only met the man, i once had him shouting in my ears for 14 or so seasons : he even made some (SOME BEING AN UNDERSTATEMENT) EAR WAX fall out of my ear, with the benefit of the needle on the pump
