Had a good first ten I'd say, that was about it, we didn't create and i don't remember any shots. As soon as we revert to hoof ball we look awful whereas we look threatening when we play it on the deck.

I'm a bit lost for words really, its not looking good at the moment. We need a lucky win from somewhere!

Beaten by a team at the top of their form.

I can't say I was dissapointed with the effort the players put in but we do need a good target man.

It was so easy for Newport is was embarrassing. Ford has released players and brought in worse replacements for equal money.

we're every bit as bad now as the day Ford took over.

When I look at the injured players now and ask, who when fit, will make any difference to our quality the answer is none of them.

Not good enough.

Ford has got to games to avoid a Vote of Confidence.

I think today was just not good enough and as for all players putting effort in lol, Hobbs tries and some players showed what they could for spells throughout the game but not in the final third when it counts, no shots, nothing to make me think that we our now turning a corner and bringing on defensive midfield players when we need to create chances and score goals no thanks.

Oh well we will see what the future holds but for me today not good enough and i fear it may take a while to see a change. Roll on Tuesday.

I was obviously watching a different match. I saw a great start, just like the one on Monday. I saw chances for the opposition kept to a minimum and Mitten wasn't called upon to make many saves. I saw alot of effort by many players and thought Dean Cracknell was man of the match. Sadly I also saw the game change as soon as we went one down.
Personally I think that if we change our game-plan to the following I'm sure a win is just a few days away. Don't concead any goals and keep playing the way we have been for the first 10 - 15 minutes till the final whistle. I'll ring Mr Ford and let him know.

Hello Trigger,

I to thought that the start was quite good, minus the no shots, as stated effort was shown in periods Finn, Haswell, and Hurell all went missing at points but Haswell seems to going missing every game, it comes down to me that we are not creating from the back, number 6 for Newport must have a headache as he won so many headers how is Hobbs going to outjump a 6'3 giant he won one ball I think, my point being if we are honest who thought after we went one down we would get something out of it? one win in eight is not up to scratch and we won against 9 men JUST. Things need to start working now, and I do agree Trigger that well in the second half at least Cracknell raised it and he was one of the better players, Madienhead will be very intresting indeed.

Dizzie.

If I actually knew what I was talking about I would say that we're missing two experienced central defenders. As much as I admire Mr Perkins he is not a center half, isn't Mr King one? For me Steve King is not a right-back. I thought Mr Mambo had his best game so far but I'm still not sure about him. I can understand Mr Finn and Louis on the wings for pace but Mr Hobbs needs to feed off a large centre forward. Couldn't Mr Clarke and even Mr Perkins have a half each? Perks has played up front before I think.

I don't know if you realise it Trigger, but you re saying we need 5 new decent players to pull out this ****.

Not good enough. Let's hope Lewes go bust, Weymouth continue to be ****, as do Maidenhead, WSM and Dorchester, we improve as much as possible then we might have a chance of avoidng relegation.

That just proves how little I know about football. However, I hope the teams you have mentioned get themselves out of trouble and survive. I'm confident that we will still win the league on our own merit.

Lets be honest. We are a poor team, even with all the injuries back.  Absoluute Sh**@e today. NOTE TO Andy Ford..... before the next game please..

1) Introduce the players to each other
2) Ask them to try to pass the ball to one of those players that they have just been introduced to.
3) Stop HOOFING THE F**KING Ball
4) Bring in a assistant manager who knows what he`s doing
5) p**s off JgFc. I`m not interested in your opinion. YES I`M ANON. BUT SO ARE YOU BECAUSE YOU DONT TURN UP FOR ANY OF THE GAMES AND YOU DONT HAVE A CLUE ABOUT THE TEAM OR HOW THEY ARE PLAYING. STICK TO PICKING UP YOUR MONGY GREYHOUNDS SH**E.

Not a lot to say about today's performance suffice to say we need to improve soon otherwise we will be well entrenched in the relegation zone. Our defence is poor and as for Haswell being the best left back in non league football I have to laugh.

Tuesday will show if we are up to competing as Maidenhead should be a team we are looking to beat. Can't wait for our cup run!

I Dont usually come on here n bleat about how bad we are performing, but after todays game i cant resist it.
I Agree with trigger and dizzie after the 1st goal you really couldn't see how they were going to pull level let alone go on to win. OK so both goals were bad an error from Charlie who has had a good season so far n results would be far worse if it wasn't for him and as for Perkins pen dont get me started on him. Just put it down to me not being a fan maybe playing him in danson park might be an idea.!!!
I never see the bath or Thurock games but today was the worst performance so far, no passion, no fight, no want and Newport didn't really look that good but we made them look the better team.
But An Interesting Article in the progamme on "the Doig digest " page
and i would love to know what andy's starting line up would be if all avaliable,
I Know that the money side maybe tight  and injuries haven't helped but if we could just manage to keep a consistant line up maybe our luck would Change.
This is just me getting it off my chest Im not having a go at Fordy, and I cant see the WINGS being Relegated. Any talk of relegation by various posters is Negative thinking. no

The seaon dont normally start till Christmas when suspensions and injuries kick in so I'm not pressing the panic button just yet.

However, the worries so far are consistencies, we must have played in excess of 25 + players .  Fordy will I'm sure establish a settled side once injuries which hopefully are short term are resloved.  What we do have however is a glut of players in positions, and a void in others.

So to resolve our crisis I propose we have a central pairing of Andrews/Parkinson/King and two defenders if we are going 442. Micheal Deane shoud be there, dont understand why he is not in the left back role against recent run of play. This woud also run a 352 situation if pushing Deano forward

Which brings me to the bigger piece, Yes Hobbs up front but he aint going to get 20 goals a season without a target man. Perks can play  there as well. He has done it before he wins headers and can play the ball. Fordy doesnt want to revert to long ball stuff but Perks is a great pin man, can lay the ball off and still have a place to play.

Having said that I thought Lee Clarke looked good when he came on today, but the guy aint a bloke to come off the bench .he needs games at this level. I am hoping that a knock may have been the reason.

Don't bleat on about it boyos, you were beaten by the league leaders and looked semi-competitive for a while (besides having zero shots)

PS. Thanks for the travel tips, they were great. Looks like your forwards could do with a sat nav to find the way to the opposition goal mouth.

Love,

The poor performances are ruining our income. 200 less people there than when we played Newport in April.

But a hundred or so of those were Newport supporters who didn't make the trip for some reason.

Don't panic.

I think people aren't looking at the table properly. Yes, we haven't started the season well, but the five games that we have lost are to the top 9 teams in the table (including the teams in first and third). I know people were annoyed that we lost to Thurrock but Thurrock are in seventh and have beaten other teams apart from Welling. I feel we have been unlucky both with injuries and the fixture list at the start of the deason and I dont believe Welling will be in danger of relegation.

The fact **** like Basingstoke & Thurrock are up there and our season is dead and buried puts into perspective just how abysmal we are.

You don't even have to be any good to do well at this level.

This season can't end soon enough so we can start again we fresh optimism.

Anon, I just can't comprehend your viewpoint.

Welling is the Club we choose to support, results this season have been worse than we would have liked and the jury may be out regarding the passion and commitment of some players but why presume this will continue and why denigrate sides that have got off to a good start?

Basingstoke and Thurrock have had a great start to the season but whether it will last or not remains to be seen and if it does good luck to them. Have you seen Thurrock more than once, if at all? Have you been to Basingstoke to see them? Probably not so how can you say they are ****.

I suggest you lose the Welling have a god given right to be up at the top of the table stance. We would all like to see Welling fighting it out at the top end of the table rather than the bottom but there are 21 other Clubs and their fans wanting the same thing.

With the amount of chopping and changing us and every other team goes through every season maybe it isn't a surprise that Thurrock (who were **** last season) being above us and the likes of Maidenhead who were sixth are in relegation dogfight (at the moment).  It does take time for any side to jell and especially us with 25 players this season (some of them completly useless). At this level Mr.Anon it's very rare to be at the top or bottom all the time.
STAY POSITIVE!!!

Why respond to anon? all he does is have digs and post negative stuff? If he cant be arsed to identify himself, ignore his threads. If you havent got the balls to put your identity to scathing attacks, then they dont deserve a reply or any attention to the content.

I certainly wont be replying to anything he puts again, he is quite simply just a negative moron and i am not even convinced hes a welling fan. Duane? or a seething ex player stirring?

Ignore them and they will go away, lets be fair their posts are just whingeing and factually incorrect.

I dont even see what hes getting at, he seems to be saying , we are ****e, sack fordy.

I dont think there would be more than 5 welling fans who would agree with him

Just ignore him.

I did like Spud's post!

We've got 34 games left and i think Ford is a really good manager, plus we've got a good set of players, with some still to come back from injury, so i don't see a problem with where we are in the table at the moment. Of course if we are right near the bottom in March/April I'll start to worry.

I'll never understand why someone would go onto another teams forum anonymously and talk crap about them. What are they getting out of it exactly? Are their lives really so empty, that the only satisfaction in life they can get, is from being an anonymous keyboard warrior?!

If you are not a fan of hoof ball I suggest you close your eyes on Tuesday night because that's all the current Maidenhead side can do.

By the comments on your forum it looks like a banker 0-0 given Maidenhead's lack of fire power.
