Agree J,

I am alo looking forward to Sat and must say I enjoy my new view with my crutches from the stand.

On a serious note though do you think they will bring any fans I remember that even Egham Town bought some fans down when we played them ......

I really hope we win this and get Hyde United OOOPPPSSS!

Up the wings!

I posted on their cemetery like message board yesterday, asking if there was a reason why no one used it.

As of last night it looks like its been closed down, maybe I offended them as I did with Totton last year.

I can still remember the last time we went to Hyde so although I feel sorry for them, Im glad we wont have to go back.

i hope the players take it seriously. Money is obviously important, this season more than ever, but we could do with a good run. Some big clubs will be there in the first round and some possible big derby games in the qualifiers.

Huddersfield away 3 years back - i think JGFC had some video? - get it on youtube and then the players will know what's it's all about. Not forgetting all the other big cup games we've had.

we should try and get a video site and try and get loads of the old videos up . The conference games. Gillingham games. Blackburn. Orient huddersfield etc. I dare say someone has a vhs and dvd collection. Have you still got the bbc clips that were on wings on the web? I reckon between us all we would have most of what was aired on tv or sold on vhs or dvd.

mind you if i see bookers miss at elm park or glovers header at the park end against reading 20 years ago it would depress me. The bath city vid would be good. Anyone have any vids stored away?

Ah, the great barrier collapse behind the park end goal. Two goals down, fight back to win 3-2.  I had a video of that game because, for some reason, I could get Southern TV (I could get Anglia as well!) but I have tried for years to try to find the damned thing.

I had another video of the mighty Wings training in a school hall before the Blackburn game and then a shot of Nicky Brigden in the dressing asking for "good kicking from you Barrers" (Paul Barron). A classic - and I can't find that bloody video either.  I reckon my dear children recorded the Glastonbury concerts over it.

And yes, I remember that match at Elm Park - soaked to the skin, stair rods the entire match and then Trevor Booker......... I thought we were going for the record for Cup replays.  It was only lack of numbers in our squad which accounted for us in the end against Reading.

The classic was at Gillingham though, when, with barely a minute remaining Terry Robbins was through on goal and I thought I heard a negative voice coming from the Chairman's direction. A Mark Hone goal did it in the replay.

Phew!! Couldn't see where the goal was going to come from on the first half's performance. Lovely taken second goal by Mr Whitnell.

Spot on Trig - Sorry to be so negative, but Thurrock wanted the ball/game more than we did. Great goals and result yes, but we have to up our tempo to progress further. Sloppy passing and long balls against tall defenders will never work. When we played the ball on the floor and ran at them, we were all over them.
Fordy, kick arse and play 4-4-2

What have you been doing keeping that hidden away? All brilliant but the highlight has got to be Abbo's goal against Gateshead. Memory does strange things. I didn't remember Bath having that many supporters for the 2 Rd replay either.

I think a draw would have been a fair result today but I suppose you could argue that we took our chances and they didn't. We have done better than last year already in the Cup. I hope we don't get Dover or Woking away in the next round.

I thought King played quite well and is improving.

It was on the old site for years; bit outdated now given they were done in the dial-up days.

I had loads of the conference games on VHS sadly all mislaid when moving here there and everywhere.

If anyone has any DVDs or VHS they have copies of give me a shout and i will edit/convert them and get them on youtube.

Anyone got the orient games and reading games or gillingham, blackburn, lincoln or huddersfield? or any of the conference vhs tapes? Wasnt there a 0-0 draw that went out live from PVR ?

I remember a game at home live (cameras and scaffolding set up above the old cowshed) plus one away at Dagenham - i think it was Live TV or something??

I use to have easy access to a tape library with quite a few Welling highlights but it's not that easy now - i'll try and get something though. My mistake was not encoding them in high enough quality first time around.

Wasn't there a Slough (?) game televised live? I have a vague recollection of it being played on a Friday night and a 2-0 scoreline, but they could all be a figment of my caffeine addled imagination.
