Apparently asked Fordy for more money after one game ... now agrees to play at Dover for nothing to win a contract ... better to get what Welling were offering than the sod all you've got at the moment Id have thought Rocky !! and of course there is no guarantee that a few weeks at Dover will lead to a contract, or what if you got injured ?? I really cant believe that there are mercenaries even at this level ... disgusting ...

Unfortuantely this shows the state of things at this level.

Going by what I saw and others tell me he was worse after his home appearance we would appear to be winners as we are saving his wages. Good luck to the vloke but if you aint made it by his age its time to start thinking about opening a burger van

IMO, Welling are a club on the way down. Dover are a club on the way up (as much as it pains me to say that). Why wouldn't players want to go there? Welling have been punching above their weight for a number of years and would think that the Ryman Premier would be a suitable level.

The power base in Kent non-league football is shifting with the rise of Dover and Dartford and the fall of Welling and Webbedfeet!

In reply to Browsing, the reason that Welling have "punched above their weight" is that the club has always been well run financially and has never suffered the financial crises which have affected all three other clubs mentioned at certain times.
As a Welling supporter, the one thing that disappoints me is that our average crowd is now around 500 whereas the other three can reckon on 1000 or so.  It's up to us the fans to try to get other people to come along to games to try to get attendance levels back to that sort of figure as they used to be.  If this can be achieved, I think it's possible that in 2 or 3 years all four clubs could be in BSP.  Now that would be great for local rivalry.

I think that David Beckham will be quaking in his boots when he recovers from his injury as he will be facing Mr Rocastle when the Galaxy play the Kansas City Wizards. I think this shows just how strong Major League Soccer is.

I wonder if Rocastle is there playing for free to earn a contract ?? bloody idiot.

If I applied for a new job having had 4 other jobs in the last 12 months and been s**t at all of them would I get the job ?? I doubt it. Why is it any different with "footballers" like Rocastle ??

Some how he scored some goals at Forest Green and I think they wanted to keep him but he decided to go to the USA. Just shows he made no effort when he was with us.

He was even named MOM on his debut for Forest Green. He probably asked them to exchange the trophy for cash.
