It was never going to generate a great atmosphere we were expected to win and we did. Wait until we get a tough draw and the atmosphere will be alot different.

The reason that it was not a good atmosphere yesterday was that it was another poor performance by Welling against a supposedly inferior team. Our passing was well below the standard expected of a BSS side and East Thurrock's passing was, without doubt, of a superior standard.
When we are playing short players up front, it is imperative that we play the ball to their feet but we keep lumping high balls to them. This does not make any sense to me or to the many supporters sitting near me in the New Stand.
During training, the Coaching Staff should be concentrating on passing to feet because it would appear that this is not being carried out at present.
We could not have complained if East Thurrock had gained a draw from the game. Well done to Tommy Whitnell who saved our bacon with two good goals.
It would also make sense to play Tony Finn wide on the right and put Jake Hobbs, who runs himself into the ground in every match, up front with Tommy Whitnell.
I note that Lee Clarke played for Cambridge City in the Cup yesterday so that he is now Cup-tied. Does this mean that he will be allowed to join them if he impresses during his loan for one month? In view of his considerable BSS experience and our total of only 13 goals in 11 games in the League so far this season, was this a wise decision?
Glad somebody else can the the light John C. I've been saying it since pre-season but have been shouted down. We're not robust enough and don't have many, if any, players that look exciting when they get the ball. Very middle of the road.
Rome wasn't built in day and if we can keep safe this season, perhaps have a good cup runm and build for next year then it's all we ask for. It took Ford 5 seasons to get things right a Gravesend and let's hope he can at least get us a crack at the play off in the next 5.
I think we will have enough about us to beat some of the poorer sides, as proven in recent weeks, but I don't think we'll pick up too many points from the better sides and will struggle against the poorer teams that look as though they want it a bit more.
im sorry but none of those games had "atmospheres" - depends on your defintion of what one is
and let me clarify my postings on this thread(when im not drunk ) if by atmos you are refering to singing we are awful - hardly any singing ever happens altho a roof over both ends would solve that problem (and i know that wont be happening any time soon due to costs etc)
but if by atmos you are refering to "getting behind the team" then i dont think we have a massive problem in that regard - fair enough it can be very flat at pvr but i can think of numerous examples when weve got right behind the team
it's a football home disease of no atmos that isnt just reserved for us although on this occasion Ford is right and we should have got behind them more
Basically it was down to who we were playing we were expected to win if we were playing a team who on paper we may struggle against the atmosphere would have been different
