Seems a bit over the top (on the FA webpage, local papers etc).
We could have drawn 26 teams NEARER to us than Dover.
The 'Kent' thing that did exist was at a time when the clubs had more rivalry with each other and both aiming for the conference or staying in it. The atmosphere at the league game in August was as flat a PVR clubhouse pint. Maybe it's just me but I don't get as worked up by these fixtures as I once did.
The more hype the better - may make bigger crowd thus welling will get 35 - 40% ??? after dovers costs are taken off - Thus could be the equalivant of 700-800 crowd money wise (if expected attn of 2000+)

i think the split is 40-40 and the fa take 10%
so a crowd of 1200ish would give us a nice tidy some plus the £7500 for going through to the next round lol
At this stage of the competition its a straight 50/50 split .
In matches prior to the Third Round of the Competition Proper (other than replayed matches in the Competition Proper), the net gate receipts of each match shall be divided equally between the competing Clubs.
As a club we don't have any real rivals, which is just one of those things. Quite simply we don't spend enough time in the same division as clubs to forge a rivalry.
It's better to have no rivals than an embarrassing one way rivalry like that with .
No-one is that interested in Welling down here, shown by the poor attendance for the league game - maybe lucky to beat that for the cup game. You're just a small club now and like you say hardly a Kent derby. We're more excited about the Bromley game tbh.

my point exactly - we're more interested in the money side of things at the moment until we get a big team/more local club.
You're just a small club now - i'll get the violin out
We're more excited about the Bromley game tbh. - is this your Ryman rivarly cropping up again? I can't remember when we were in leagues so low. Must have been nice
Maidstone were my rivals but prior to that it was and really should be Dartford. Dover were rivals simply because we were in the same league. If we ever play in the leage vs Ebsfleet they will probably become rivals.
Bromley? Pub team and never been in our league until recently so never had a rivalry.
If Dartford come up then the rivalry will change back.
As for Dover, i just hate them and they way they operate and the spin they impart on anything coming out of their backside. Delusions of Granduer and punching above weight.
They still are full of mercinarys.

There really was nothing with Dover until we became THEIR nearest team in the conference. There must be at least half the clubs we play nearer than them for us.
I'd say Woking and Fisher have/had far more mutual exchanges with us than Dover. But yes, Dartford probably should be THE one.
No question it has to be D*******. Goes right back to their days at Watling Street when both clubs were doing well.
I distinctly remember a rearranged night game at PVR when it was absolutely chucking it down. The majority of Darts fans were congregated under the old corrugated roof on the far side. They were giving Welling striker Gary Julians (an ex Dart) some fearful stick. After he scored his second to secure us the game he slid over in front of them and gave them a one fingured salute.
So its Dartford then yes? We just ignore those in france and their yo yo-ing up and down the leagues and short memories. And we wait for next season for proper local rivalry?
Sorted.

JgFc,

The way things are going Dartford will be in a different league to us next season and they will get promoted
Strange with all the "Kent Derby" hype that only 2 games (according to BSS forum) will have live commentaries. BBC radio Shropshire and BBC radio Surrey
Shame the games can't be online only but there's a rule (thanks to Talksport and Ofcom) that say games can only be streamed online IF they are also broadcast on the airwaves.

Translation please...
The time has come for the big game - but I have bad news for fans of Welling. Mr. Whitnell is prolific on the bench tomorrow. Thought I warned the French that were the case ... but I reviewed my crystal ball and can provide you remove the bench to score a 75th minute winner! Go Wings!
Im sure Radio Dover er sorry Kent, will be cheering on Dover, they only cover Welling when it suits them, How many of our games have they covered this season?apart from the Gillingham friendly None!!!!!! although im sure they will find their way to PVR on April 10th.
