I may be wrong but I am being told that Mr Ford has decided to walk? Thought the forum might want to know?

Bad news for us if this rumour is confirmed.

Would not surprise me if true. I would rather see Ford stay though than go.

I don't want to see Ford go, however - Daish isn't doing too well with Ebbsfleet this year, and IIRC done well for us when he stood in...

we can do a swap then - they get Ford and we take Daish! (although hasnt he been moaning that he hasnt had enough transfer funds this year? and whoever comes to us will have precisely £0.00 to spend so it wont be easy finding anyone decent to come in)

At mo this is a rumour so lets not worry, The long and short of it is this

Fordy does not need to go, he needs an assistant with experience someone like DACK WITH Contacts who can be like Fordy's right arm. Fordy is a good manager but he needs more help than Protheroe can offer at this point in time

Think you will find Mr Protheroe will step in to fill the managerial shoes for the next month or so.

Have to say that it comes as no surprise that Mr Ford departs after the woeful tactical shortfalls of Saturday - especially during the second half.

Does not really make sense to keep Whitnell on the bench after his recent goal scoring efforts and the substitutions were bizarre.

Parkinson is a right footed player then asked to switch from midfield to left-back....what was that about?
Any player/manager will tell you that is a difficult job to do when involved in the hustle and bustle of midfield and then having to change your discipline 70 minutes into a game.
The players tried their best but too many were played in the wrong positions.

So are we saying that he has gone or just speculation?

I would certainly like him to stay but agree he needs a good no2 behind him. Proths will come good but maybe needs to learn his trade at a lower level and then step on from there.

I see Lew Watts that old war horse is no no2 at Chatham Town but played 90 mins on sat.Dont wan to do Proths out of a job but someone like maybe Ruthers or Dobbler may be a good call as they have some experience and maybe some good contacts as well

Oh Ye of little faith.....

PS - This is the rebuke levelled at the disciples of Christ, when seeming to doubt his divinity.
The phrase is also more widely used to describe any Christian doubter.
In a secular setting it may be intended as a humorous jibe when doubting someone's abilities......

If (and I stress if) this is true than I am hugely disappointed in Mr Ford.

It wan't that long ago we were fed the line about "true manager's earn their corn when times are hard" ..........."Lee and I have to work that bit harder" blah blah blah and now he jumps ship leaving us with a squad devoid of confidence.

And as for Protheroe taking over.........do me a favour.

Joe,

We see a lot of rumour and speculation at this level and you will therefore have to excuse my doubt until something is more concrete. If what you say is true I am sure the Official site will update by the end of the day with this important news.

If this is the case I think we are right in the poo.

Get Dolby in ASAP

has contacts has experience and was a player

with all due respect to proths, he is a weakness at management level as so inexperienced.

i wouldnt have dobler and ruthers.

just dobler.

If Andy has walked, he wasnt as good as i and others thought he was and obviously Adie and Dacky were a huge part of the success he got.

No one likes a quitter, and Ford had the support of the fans.

I would urge the Hobbins to go get a manager asap .

I would offer it in this order to people WE KNOW and who have contacts and a bit of experience.

Dobler
Handford
and third choice just because we know him and hes got experience and contacts Abbo

Colin McBride may be an option.

Please not proths and please get someone in ASAP, if we leave it a week or two we could be dragged right in the crap.

Daish could be worth tapping up.

My source tells me Handford was VERY close to accepting the offer before but felt the biudget was a little lower than he needed. He deffo had players willing to come to the club.

Hang your head Fordy, youve let the Club, The Hobbins and the Fans down and bottled it rather than take any stick and roll your sleeves up.
