Puts a new slant on things...

He did a good job, saved us from relegation and gave us a great season last year. Just remember him for that, and get behind the team for the rest of the season.

Hang on we are back at the innuendo

"Theres stuff that goes on behind the scenes i never got involved in but it was affecting Andy's private life"

Can someone ffs just come out and say what all this hidden stuff is.

Perhaps that's the point JgFc, as it's his private life, he won't want people to know.

ID BE INTERESTED TO KNOW AS WELL BUT IT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN AND THE FACT IS THAT IF BEING MANAGER WAS AFFECTING FORD'S PRIVATE LIFE THEN HE WAS ALWAYS GOING TO GO AT SOME POINT

He's the assistant manager but he never got involved.........??

I wish him luck on Saturday but Protheroe has to be a non starter as the manager. He can learn his trade elsewhere rather than with us.

Andy said on Radio london, that he picked the team and he did the tactics. Was lee putting out the cones and slicing the oranges?

Im not Protheroe biggest fan, however i will support him on Sat, but if he is given the job full time then it is the begining of the end. As Wing nut said learn the trade lower down then work your way up. Protheroe has admitted he does not have the experience.

Will the people responsible for hiring a new manager listen to anything posted on these forums? I can't imagine they would want to appoint again someone that the fans don't want.

Lee helped earn us a point at Staines in Andy's absence (when he went off at h/t) and that is a tricky place to go to with a depleted squad.  Whether he is manager material after such a short apprenticeship remains to be seen. He's a smashing chap but I think it has come too quickly for him although he seems to have a rapport with the players.

Not sure how the fans views are respected with regards there depth of  football knowledge - Lots appear to have wanted Andy Ford out - yet when he resigned, fans were slagging him off, saying he bottled it. Fordy can not win

I assume this just relates to the fact that it takes up so much of his time doing the job, and when he runs a business and has a wife Im sure it puts strains on that kind of thing trekking all over the country on a Tuesday and Saturday each week.

and as for Proths not getting involved in some things, I would imagine thats budget etc ... your assistant would more than likely do lots of coaching, man management etc, but the nitty gritting of spending the money and things would be just Fordy.

Not just Tuesday's and Saturdays.  There's 2 nights training and I know for a fact that Fordy and Adie and probably many other previous managers went out on other nights to watch matches either to follow up on a player they had been told about or to see what tactics we should apply against other teams.
