Anyone else had any issues with this forum recently? A couple of weeks ago some of the banner ads changed, and from my mobile I can no longer view the forum. When connecting through my mobile connection I get a Web time out error (all fine on any other site), and when viewing over Wifi, it downloads a file when loading the page.

When viewing the site on a computer, it occasionaly redirects the page straight to a William Hill page.

Anyone else having issues?

Graham

Yeah I've been redirected a couple of times too. William Hill once and another betting site the other time. I also get a really annoying message of 'congratulations, you've won!' in an American accent announced every now and then.

I get the annoying spoken message too - not good when logging on at work. Haven't had the other problems though

I've had no problems with pop ups but it souinds like the advertising which enables free use of the forum is at the root of the matter. Installing one of the many pop up blockers available may get rid of the problem. Personally I use Mozilla's Firefox browser in preference to IE and the very good Ad Block Plus addon which enables me to surf the net without all the annoying pop up adverts.

I would be concerned if something unexpected is being written to my hard drive Graham and I would advise that you run malwarebytes or Search and Destroy (both available as a free downloads from www.download.com) to make sure your computer has no unwelcome visitors that have not been picked up by whatever security software you have installed on it.

When cut and paste is used there are formatting issues which vary according to the fonts being used and the format in which the document is saved. Again this is a bugbear of the free hosting. It is possible to get round some of the problems and if anyone wants to know how I do it PM me.

The most annoying one is forgetting \ r (spaced so it doesn't happen) is XML for line feed. You never see it until its too late...

Even more bloody annoying when you forget when you use it in your job every day!
