Just stuck my head out the window to see what the weather is like in Welling today, and it's cold, hasn't rained for quite a while, there are clouds in the sky, and your probably more in danger of getting frostbite than getting wet at the match today.

Just stuck my wife's head out of the window here in Upper South Welling Village and the sun is out, no rain but a bit chilly.

It's getting onto mid day and there is heavy rain, but it isn't a torrential downpour.

An hour till the match, and it hasn't rained for a while and the sun is out. The dark clouds are moving off towards Essex where they belong :D

less than a quarter of an hour to kick off, and there is plenty of blue sky, not all that many clouds and a nice strong breeze which will dry the pitch up.

Are they really finally going to demolish those colour coded buildings near the train station? They've been talking about it for a while now. They look terrible. No wonder they filmed Nil by Mouth there!

Taken from South East London Chamber of Commerce

5th June 2009
Mayor Boris paves way for multi-million pound renewal of Kidbrooke estate

The Mayor of London Boris Johnson has today approved plans to radically redevelop one of the largest and most deprived housing estates in London and improve the quality of life for thousands of local people.

Dated, crumbling housing on the Ferrier estate in Kidbrooke will be replaced by 4,000 new homes - of which 38 per cent will be affordable homes plus a new commercial and retail hub and a range of community facilities.

If 38 per cent are affordable, what are they going to do with the other 62 per cent. Seems silly to me building houses that people can't afford.

Is Boris paying for Greenwich Borough FC to relocate too?

If yes we have Kingsmoors Gaff and Develop it to a great stadium?

Greenwich Borough might do more for us than the clowns at Bexley Council. Its only yards from Welling too and was my Old School and Football Club's Ground too.

Perfect for a New Stadium for us.

I can assure you that in present financial circumstances Greenwich would be no better that Bexley.  I have a vague recollection of Greenwich council getting its fingers burnt with Charlton. If I have it right they gave CAFC a grant then the club ups sticks and moved to Selhurst.
Anyway would you really want the club to move from London occupied Kent into London proper?

The council have already started to knock it down but I understand the original time scale of 9 years to rebuild is now 20 years due to the credit crunch.  Cant wait to meet the 62% who will be able to afford to live there.

David i could fade a 3 wood round the pub from Welling into Kingsmoor's ground. It wouldnt be moving miles away.

What do we gain from being in Bexley? We sit and watch other councils invest and help clubs. We get feck all and bent over by increased rent.

As a Greenwich resident I would be only too pleased to see the club this side of the borough boundary. However I suspect this will not happen unless someone gets a quadruple rollover on the euro lottery.

Ok nice for a day out am sure we could arrange a fleet of coaches for home matches. What part of Thanet are you thinking of? Could it be the former Hoverspeed stadium may be available once the present occupants go under?

Thank you, Mark.  I wonder whether it would be a kindness to our players for the match to be called off - it was certainly heavy going on Sunday. And, as you probably know, Mark, the match came perilously close to being called off.

The only thing to consider Bertie is that you have two players in the shape of Day and Clarke who didn't play Saturday and I can see them coming straight back into the team (although Hurrell and Johnson both had good games) plus we are on a roll and im sure the players will want the games to keep coming to try and keep the run going.
