Manchester United set to sign Charltons 17-year-old defender Carl Jenkinson
A report in The People this morning, suggests that Sir Alex Ferguson will add to his burgeoning squad of young players with the signing of Charlton Athletic defender Carl Jenkinson.
The 17-year-old is believed to be worth around £500,000, with Charlton in need of the funds after they were relegated from the Championship to League One.
Jenkinson, who has recovered from a serious knee injury, is a centre back by trade but can also play on the right hand side.
According to the official Charlton Athletic website, "Jenkinson likes to get forward with the ball" and "the Football Association is continuing to monitor" his progress after a serious injury.

Official site indicates we have signed Chris Saunders who started in Charltons Academy and has played for Fisher and Thurrock. Also states another player signed awaiting registration.
We need some new defenders quick! Dismal defending allowed Bromley a couple of easy goals, and once they went two down Welling just gave up. The next time they go two goals down, we might as well all go down the pub, at least It'll be warm in there!

I remember this bloke we had once was called Steve King.
After we went 2 down..........ive seen more life in a dead fox on the fast lane on the M25 on a very busy day............. guttless no leadership, no idear, awful, boring, ............ It seem we are now going back to our early season form... God it was Maidenhead away again . Two new signing on the bench ! What the point ?.......... Oh well still be there on Monday hoping
