Welling v Thurrock

Video Highlights and HD Goals Video now online, at the bottom of this page:

http://www.wellingunited.com/tpl/matchdetails.php?id=62

Didn't get a chance to interview Jamie Day as I had to rush off and get this down asap.

So what do you think of the tackle of Bakare?

Andrews had a shocker which is most unlike him. Parky did well on the clearance and we should have buried both chances to go 3-1 up.

We could have been well behind early on. Not that bad a result, on another day we could have won.

What was good is that Daisy was in the ear of the ref. So many teams play the ref and we never have done, If Daisy is going to keep at the refs thats good.

In my opinion video highlights can be harsh particularly to defenders and keepers whose errors are highlighted and on many occasions flattering  to strikers.

Yesterdays game in my opinion was very much the proverbial curates egg with some of the less good parts highlighted in the video.

I asked the question, after bromley game should MR ANDREWS be selected or do you keep a winning team.
On yesterdays performance the answer must be no,that said MR ANDREWS was selected because sicknote sorry sambrook is injured again.
Mr jenkinson played well at right back can he play centre half ? LET ME KNOW BOOM BOOM
My opinion of yesterdays game is it was scrapy either team could of won both had chances, charlie saved us couple of times and we missed some good chances.

Get some grip on reality Andrews has been our best defender this season and last arguably. He may have had a couple of unfortunate moments yesterday but other than that the centre backs stood up very well to a right old buffeting from a very physical team that played the laws to the limit and beyond on numerous occasions. Their bench was virtually rabid at times.

We all have our opinions on who should be in the first 11. Should you change a winning team? YES! If I thought it would help the team win the next match. In the case of Sambrooke or Andrews. I would always pick Andrews because I think he is the all round better player. He messed up yesterday. But generally when he is in possesion of the ball I feel confident he will do the right thing. I dont always feel that way with Sambrooke.

It's the constant use of capitals which you haven't done this time!

Anyway enough conflict we're all Welling supporters.

Poor first 40 minutes - looked tired and not up for it. After we scored we had good fight, pace, and some decent football at times. Andrews was a bit unlucky, but he's been absolutely superb this season, so one off game doesn't bother me at all.

Overall I think a point was fair, and a result not to be sniffed at.

Thought it was a fair result overall.  Thurrock best team in the first half, Welling in the second.  Not a bad point though against a good strong side likely to be in the play offs at the end of the season.

MOM was Bod.  Shame we haven't still got him at PVR.  Welling's MOM I gave to Sam Hurrell.  Thought he had his best game for a long time.

Agree that Andrews was a bit unlucky. Didn't play too badly overall but his mistakes led to both goals and are therefore what people remember.  Is still our most consistent defender though.

Harsh maybe but some people should perhaps worry less about their shallots and more about spelling, grammar and the use of English, then perhaps their comments, although not necessarily agreed with, will be understood.

Impressed with Hurrell recently, definitely our best winger, and will also track back and put a foot in unlike others I will refrain from mentioning on this occasion. Glad Day has seen this early on and is giving him a consistent run in his preferred position.

Yes, a point gained overall rather than two lost. It could have gone either way as it really was a game of two halves.

Andrews is a class defender just made two **** ups. Good to see Jack make some good plays. Andrews or Sambrook is not a hard decision to make. Andrews all day long.

Soccer ball, its NFL season sorry.

What a play by DEFENSE-ive Back Parkinson, ejecting the ball when danger was nearby to shut out the offensive Forwards man.
