Raised in Hertfordshire via Durham I have been watching the Wings on and off for 20 years now. Sunderland are my passion and retain the ability to make or wreck my weekend but I can't help noticing that those same emotions are growing stronger all of the time for all things Welling Utd. Days out like those at Bishop's Stortford at the weekend cast a more rosy view on this but where I have never before seen myself replicating the same massive highs and enduring the gut wrenching lows I have had following Sunderland these are creeping in more and more with the Wings. Good - I think! - although all a little unexpected and curious. Funny how it gets you in the end...
As a kid I used to folllow West Ham but to the bigger clubs you will always be just a number or 'customer'. Much more fun following a club at this level in my opinion.
