Too many players just didnt do their job today. Charlie Mitten again outstanding, if he isn't up there for player of the season I will be suprised.
Couldn't understand the substitutions we made at half time and then again in brining off Lee Clarke with 9 mins to go and 1-0 down, we should have gone three up front, assiming no injuries.
Bath however are a good side and have always given us a good game, next week will be a test for us as to how we can bounce back. We cant just play Tom Whitnell up frot on his own, despite his abilities he ain't going to out muscle a defence and we need a strong guy with him, the sooner the better.
The Bath City keeper behaved like a prat.........discuss.
Complete and utter - if we weren't such a nice, good natured group of fans it could have got quite nasty at the end of the match. Assuming he's still there next season it will be personal, home and away.
Yesterday took everything away from the previous week, there is no point winning 5 - 0 away and then getting mugged off at home. Faz up front can not happen again unless it is on champ manager, and Pugh going must have affected us agreed but one player leaving should not effect us the way it did. Felt sorry for Tommy yesterday, from what i have heard from Spills he is a top guy but in my eyes to nice, he got to tell the defence and midfield that after the 20th long ball he needs it to feet, not the Sambrook can do that anyway. A blip yes but i fill that is the play offs nearly over now, lets bounce back next week and on a last note agree them subs were strange and i hope we get a striker in for next week AKA Alex Warner ( Welling United supporters player of the year 2009 ).

It does if you have to fiddle around playing people out of the positions in which they have done so well in recent weeks. It didn't help that both left backs were injured meaning another player covering in an alien role.

Dizzie, Think we should be more worried with the full backs as well. i know he was playing as a stand in left back, but Andy Sambrook, once again did'nt do anything to say he should play for Welling again. Tony Finn, been on the bench for how long, gets a start, so he can impress the manager & fans .....& its your normal Tony Finn, a few good runs & a free kick, which for me was over shadowed by him again pulling out of tackles ....... Also how long are Jenkinsn, Obersteller & Deane going to be out ?.... If we dont find a forward by next Saturday, how about starting with Tommy up front with Micky Bakare ?.. Bring Sam H back on the left, he may not have the skill of Finn, but he gives 100%
Poor ref, poor lino, poor performance and therefore a poor result although I thought Mitten played a blinder and kept us in with a chance of nicking an undeserved draw until that late 2nd goal went in. We were light weight all over the pitch and were out muscled at every opportunity failing to win the first or second ball. As regards to the fans being more vocal there was little to motivate us until very late in the match. At least it was sunny, reasonably warm and dry otherwise I would have been seriously narked!
A vast improvement needed next time please lads as that was a dismal end to a good string of results.
Have to agree with the above posts about Charlie Mitten, he has been the only constant all season and has turned out om more than one occasion when carrying an injury which would have kept some of our outfield players out for weeks.
As far as vocal support goes those Clubs with good vocal support get it whatever is happening on the pitch and indeed it has often been said that when players are having an off day good vocal support from the terraces can have a positive effect. The chant only 'You only sing when your winning" was generated by supporters who give their vocal support through thick and thin who realised the negative impact it could have on the opposing team.

A bad day at the office except charlie and mr day,if jenkinson is out along with dean lawson and obersteller the squad is down to 15 not what we want at this stage of the season. Mr day will have a busy week ahead of him building confidence. Its already been stated about the susbstituions but also found them a bit strange. Hopefully just an off day the play offs bit further away but not out of reach put another run together, other results go our way you never know.
Players can turn it around. Remember Clarkey earlier in the season he was getting slaughtered by Fordy and lots of fans. He went away on loan, he got fitter and he pulled his sleeves up and started performing and being reliable.
It can be done. So hope for a positive rection from Sambrook, hes a proven player at this and higher levels. Daisy kept him on when he offloaded King so he must think its in there somewhere.
Over to you Andy, are you a Lee Clarke type character who will start being a huge part of the team after an iffy start or a wheres my £250 character that will be on the bench then off to yet another club?

Think that was more of a case of Sambrook & Finn both being on contact, where as Steve King & Ryann Johnson, were both uncontacts....
I don't know where this all this Sambrook bashing is coming from. He made a mistake for the second goal but after from that I thought he played as well as anyone else for the Wings on Saturday.
And I thought Finn was the only one in the second half who looked like creating something. We know he is not the greatest at chasing back and tackling but he is not in the team to do that. He's a confidence player and when on song he is a very good player.

Perhaps thats the issue ... "from that I thought he played as well as anyone else" ... not very well then, because the performance was poor.
I have nothing against Sambrook personally, but just dont think he is good enough and I would imagine, as a senior player, earns a fair amount compared to the 17-21 year old loanee's we could get in to cover right-back, like Jenkinson, who I believe is playing for us for nothing as its picked up by Charlton.
We've a small budget and small squad. Id be surprised if Sambrook is retained next year, that says it all.
