Very Basic page is up at the moment. Will be doing a test on Friday or Saturday Probably Dance Mixes of unsigned artists for 90 minutes. First proper broadcast will be for the Charlton Match, all those Wings fans (And Charlton) who cannot make it. Updates throughout the game as it happens.

Will also aim to do a live text commentary from a friendly to test that too direct from the ground.

If you wish to sponsor the Radio Wings service this season. Then all we require is a 3g Data Card  (Have one already but locked to a tariff) and the Bandwidth Covered. For this you get adverts on the site. LIVE Adverts on air during preview/review and LIVE COMMENTARY SHOWS plus on the Radio Wings Page. So if you are or know someone that is in the telecommunications industry local to Welling. Email us cockneynutter@hotmail.com Maybe a mobile phone shop?, PC Shop? or just plain rich git!

Briefly when the show is on air,  (Nothing at the monent) the stream will play automatically from the radio page. We can comfortably get about 30 on the stream as we stand - Had 20 for the last test simultaneously, if demand is there we can stream to a server if we get sponsorship for that (about 60 quid a month) Not that much when you consider thats for between 4 and 8 matches) but this will enable 200 or so - so plenty unless we draw Man Utd in the FA CUP!

Looking forward to trying out.

Can't try out on my PC this weekend but will try it out on an away match.  Any idea how it will perform on a standard 56k line?

With a capacity of 30 users is it wise to have the Charlton game as its first trial?

I would have thought that for most away games 30 user setup may well be all that needed.

You should be ok on dialup as the stream will be within your speed range. The Charlton Game is being used for 2 reasons. 1 to see the limit of the stream and 2 to test run the system of updating, broadcasting the call live.

I will make it clear there are very limited spots on the stream i can PROTECT and guarantee the ip address of any wings fans wanting to listen so they are certain of a place. Lets say 30 Wings fans say in the run up they want to be on the stream they will have preference. They can email me or post on the forum and in a split second i can automatically configure them to have a protected place.

Regular people on the streams will have the option of emailing me at the grounds with their ip address so i can add it each game , then no matter how busy the stream they will be certain of connecting. I am really looking forward to the Live Commentarys as this is easily possible if the bandwidth can be sorted, If there is a local mobile phone shop or pc shop that wants a seasons advertising everyones a winner. Forum Members and then Wings fans will always get first go at a place on the streams, if spaces remain after that the anyone can get on.

Streaming to a server in America will enable  1000 listeners each game at 20kbps so even if we draw Man Utd we can cover it.

Cheers for the info, I certainly have a better understanding of what will be possible.  Will no doubt use this service for away games.

Good Luck with the Charlton coverage.

jgfc, you could put a link for donations. after somebody listens to a game they can donate say £3 a game- or as much as they want. if people buy james' videos i'm sure they would give you a couple of quid for live commentary from histon away on a tuesday night. you could get them to put it in your paypal account or send you a cheque after they've watched so many. i know they'll be some tight people that wouldn't donate but if 10 people give you £20 per game you won't need a sponsor.
