The good thing with a beer festival is that the club can get a lot of the beer FREE. A lot of micros will send out 2 9s free to a festival to get their beer out in the public.
Obviously you charge a fiver at the door get some half pint pots made up in bulk and give a free glass on entry and people go round mingling and tasting a few fingers (fnar fnar)
You would buy a few beers but you will get plenty for free or dirt cheap off the micros. This is another way of getting businesses involved as you can flyer and mailshot people in the local area. and send posters to every pub within 10 miles If you ran it on a possible big gate you could use Eriths club for Ciders and Perrys and Wines and Ours for Real Ales but that may be best for a future festival.
I think its an earner and a good way to get people involved in the club. Naturally you would liase with Bexley and regional Camra

Absolutely. More than possible if you arranged it for next season early Just after the Charlton game for added publicity as long as it doesnt clash with local beer festivals. get a mention in the programme etc?
Its a fair bit of work, but have been involved in festivals before repping breweries so i think its possible to do it smoothly.
Need a think tank of 3 or 4 people who know the game. Plus probably need the WSU onside too for any advance costs.
