I hope we put a strong team out on Tuesday because we can win this cup again.
What players are cup tied? I know Healey is and Turner and Pinnock for Margate. Huggins probably is too which may mean good old Lloyd Blackman getting a start.
I agree that we can win the KSC again this season. I hope we field a strong side, but not a full strength team, as obviously we have to worry about possible injuries. Bakare should get a go on Tuesday as he hasn't played much for the first team, but when he does play he puts in good performances. Whatever players play for us on Tuesday, I'll still be there cheering them on :)
Margate are playing Carshalton Away in the League tomorrow night so it will be there reserves playing. The bad weather this winter has turned this competition into a bit of a farce.
If we win we will play Folkestone away in the semi-final.
Margate's reserves are also playing that night in a Kent floodlight trophy game against Hythe. I suspect they will field their youth team for that one - although it is at home at Hartsdown Park so there may be some disappointed punters if they field their kids in that one. Make no mistake though, they will give us a game - lots of talented youngsters and fringe players. I think their first team squad numbers about 20 plus players.

Isn't Margate's league game postponed? Kent Senior Cup games take priority over Ryman League games.
Thats what I thought, its very strange though. Carsharlton forum show game being on as does their website. There is even a preview on the Carlsharlton website. Margates fixture list shows the KSC and RPL games. Could it be that with a few cup tied players they could get 3 squads out tomorrow night? Wouldn't have thought so myself.
Hello - Margate fan here, it's ridiculous but we are playing a Ryman League game at Carshalton tomorrow night as well as the KSC tie at your place. It means that the Margate side at Park View Road will be weak to put it mildly - at best there'll be one or two players who've ever played for the first team but the vast majority of the side will be our reserves who aren't exactly flying in the Kent League !
It'll be the same as the number of Welling fans that will turn up then!
Its a shame that we probably just have the PVR faithful in attendance, as I understand there is no prize money just shared gate receipts. I remember a few years back either on here or on the BSS forum it was suggested these cups should be played pre season instead of friendlies. What is the feeling on this these days?
I think the LSC should be played during the summer. It's the least important of the trophies we play for. It could take place in july, and how many rounds we get through determines how many friendlies we play after that.

It might appear to some that it's the least important of the trophies, but it would still generate income for the club, especially if we get to the final again.
Well for what its worth...while we still have a chance of the play offs we should look to play this game....which is of course a nice cup to win but is really irellevant in terms of the season....with totally reserves
After Saturday we should look to get the first team up and ready for Braintree and a game against a bunch of cloggers from the Ryman would not be the best way!!!

/> Perfect preparation for Braintree on past experience.
I feel anyone who wants to see a strong side is on drugs. One injury or 2% tiredness in a vital player could destroy our play off hopes.
Sod the KSC this year, 100% for the play offs, anything else is unprofessional.
Lets be fair, its not even at priestfield, we get no money from it. We won it last season. I could never in a million years see the KSC as big as getting in the play offs. You will attract players and fans getting in the play offs. You will attract nothing winning the KSC.
Prioritise things and dont shoot ourselfs in the foot again.

Sadly not. His (presumably 3 match) suspension starts 14 days after the sending off. He will be missing for the last 3 games of the (hopefully) regular season, but would be available for any Play Offs.
If we get through tonight then possibly the Semi Final (or even Final) game might be arranged in time to count as one of the games, though I believe the FA normally expect that the suspended games are advised in advance so this might not be possible.

I cannot argue with any of that especially now that it is raining and the pitch will be draining.
There will be a far higher income reaching the play offs than there would be if we ended up losing the toss and having to play a final at somewhere like Sittingbourne or Tonbridge. Would a Kent Senior Cup final attract a bigger crowd than a home and awy with Chelmsford, Braintree or Dover. Even games with Staines would attract more.
Bearing in mind Margate's best players will be in league action tonight, I would hope that our fringe and reserve players should see off theirs anyway.
Why when this topic caused much heated debate and division and has now been aired and discussed do you have to raise it again, unless of course you feel that it wasn't resolved?
We may be playing Margate's first team now if their game at Carshalton is rained off, which seems likely.
Just looked on Carshaltons forum and the pitch inspection was at 1 pm and its been raining since then. If they do a late inspection and its called off wouldn't it be too late to change the team for Welling as I thought names had to given a while before K.O.?
Will there be any updates anywhere on the game ? Nothing on the Margate forums. Be good to know the score and line-ups if thats possible. Want to know how many Margate players are making their debuts !
