Last night Folkestone were held 0-0 at home by Croydon Athletic. As a result Tim O'Shea / Neil Smith have guided their team to the Ryman South championship.
More relevant to Welling United is that had Folkestone won, they would have been one point behind with one to play and Saturday's game would have mattered to them. Now they will finish second come what may, and can take tomorrow's game more seriously.
Jamie Day said that he wanted to win this trophy. It will be interesting to see what side he puts out.
According to BSS forum there were over 2100 spectators last night. It seem FIFC gave free admission to all and took a collection in favour of a fallen serviceman. In my view well done Invicta, not only in supporting one of or servicemen but for getting locals into the non league game.
I believe they are secure in 2nd place and therefore have the potential for two home play off games.
On the contrary I think they will play a weak side tomorrow to rest players and/or avoid injuries and the same again in their final league game on Saturday so that they can go into play offs having had a week's rest.
Surely promotion to the RPL is far more important to them than the KSC at this stage of their season
