I remember Bill Williams being very rude about him in the upstairs bar. I'd like to say that he said he should spend less time on strechers waving to fans and kissing his effing badge, but in truth it wasn't anything like that.

Bill told me that Standen was f***ing useless and just ran around the pitch getting out of position like a headless chicken and not tracking back leaving our opponents acres of space. He said standen was selfish and put us in trouble with his wreckless play.

michael deane was ok going forward but did allow himself to caught positional wise to often as a defender dropping down will be best for him,and lets not forget first and foremost he is a fireman. Good luck michael
Standen was a class act who went off the rails. Scored about 15 in in one season for us from midfield (think that was under Reynolds).
Under Williams we were so f***ing negative playing 5-3-2 with two defensive midfielders. I would n't have minded if it worked but we still could n't defend and ended up finishing 15th. Sam Saunders did the right thing in moving on.
