There are 15 signed, i hope its 18 to start the season but who gets the remaining 3 places.
I figure those left looking for a place are    anthony achempong
                                                               junior dadson
                                                               jordan johnson
                                                               martin john
                                                               lucas menz
                                                               femi omogbehin
                                                               daryl robson
                                                               andy sambrook
I am not sure if dadson was told no already anyone know ?

I said all along sambrook should be retained in squad .

If the canadians are kept do they need work premits ?

Daryl robson is british so must have clearance .

Dadson has gone, Johnson a cheaper option. Omogbehin a cheap option perhaps and Achempong if there's enough money left. 'Canadians' did well but budget wise doubt they'll stay. Sambrook already in as one of the 15 I'd say and rightly so.

I know that this is stating the bleeding obvious BUT...IF we could get another 100 through the gate each game then we would have the budget

I am hoping that the three friendlies we have had against higher opposition have shown some 'local' Premier supporters that there is a life outside the TOP flight

I know a lot of Dads were bringing their kids....maybe the kids will pester to go again

I think the deal where a Charlton/Arsenal or Millwall supporter turning up and showing their Season Ticket should get some kind of deal (maybe one kid free with the adult)

Mark i said this a few weeks ago but sadly nothing was put in the programme. Bit late now the horse has bolted and you would have to get the word out again.

Day has mentioned that Welling have 15 players on contract for this season but l can only count 13 so far! They are, as far as l gather:-

Mitten
Coyle
Obersteller
Andrews
Parkinson
Fazakerley
Clarke
Cumbers
Pugh
Pires
Cracknell
Whitnell
Healy

Have l missed anybody out from the above list?

Does Day include himself as one of the 15? If so, who is the one remaining player?

Daisy shouldnt count himself in the squad. Hes paid as a manager. His playing budget will be for players only.

I would think the other is Sambrook.

If Day hasn't included himself in the 15 and Sambrook has signed a contract (yet to be confirmed), this still leaves one player unaccounted for!

Think we would have got more through the gate had we been at Danson Festival advertising it, for the simple reason that there were tens of thousands there.

IF Jamie can get a season long loan or two from Charlton, or Millwall (or Arsenal), where we play them in the cups and they cant get called back, then its just like having another body. If its call back at 24 hour notice and cant play in cups then it could be a negative in unsettling the player, or the team's rythym like Jenkinson, where they dont really perform for us as they are back and forth all the time between clubs.

I hope Jamie isnt including himself in the squad of 15 budgeted for and theres another player we are missing, but even if he is, hes gone for quality then fill it out. Remember he has an academy and local league clubs to help him out.

In your own minds try and work out how on earth Jamie can assemble the squad he has with a budget say from 3.5 to 4k a week. Lets welcome a couple of young pros to the squad on loan added to one or two of the trialists Jamie wants. Then we have a squad between 18-20 that we have somehow managed to get assembled.

Then get some fixture posters up in local shops, pubs and work places and try and be positive. Its a recession some clubs have reduced budget by 30-40% and we are trying to win the league and have had a superbly successful Pre Season raising money to help this.

Broken wing if you count mr day its 14 plus sambrook
johnson
omobeghin
achempong
This makes 18 but its sounds like achempong is costly.
Jgfc i agree mr day should not be counted in playing budget.
Did mr day sign any sort of contract ?.

Who cares really if we get those 18 plus a couple of young pros on loan thats a superb squad that we have got. So well done to Jamie and his team and the club for coming up with the dinero to make it possible.

Nearly all clubs at our level utilise the loans that they are allowed and we are no different

I would rather that than two ore three players that 'NEVER' play and then....we expect them to do the business straight away!!!

We have an excellent squad from what I can see....roll on Hampton and their knob of a keeper ...IF he is still there

But nobody knows outside the club if Day has counted himself in the 15!

In the News Shopper report, it stated that 'Day already has 15 members under contract for the forthcoming campaign'.

By the way it has been put, this does not include Day!

What is needed is a squad update on the Welling web site!

Day plays so surely counts as a player? As he's player/manager he must be entitled to more of a wage than if he were just manager.

Try Luke Rooney of Gillingham (if he does not get a breakthrough) Jack Wilshire kind of player (attacking midfield) knows where the goal is     - local from Sidcup
