I wonder whether Jamie will be able to keep all of the current triallists? I reckon that young Ben Billings must be in with a shout and so must Darryll (Darren?) Robson. I see from the Kentish Football site that Jamie has a meeting with the Wings chairman on Friday to discuss his budget. Who is the chairman now, is it still Paul (Websdale) or has Barrie (Hobbins) moved into that role?
Our former triallist Kane Rice had a run-out for Dover last night and it seems he made a good impression.

I would say thanks but no thanks to Achempong, gave away too many fouls in our own half, you cant keep him and Sambrook we cant have 4 center halfs in a squad. I would keep Femi and Jordan from the triallists but dont think we can as we wont be as balanced as we could be in the squad. Femi could play right midfield as he has pace and gets forward quickly as well as cover for Coyle.
Billings did OK last night on left but seeing that hes played in the Sussex County League you would have expected him to roast Holmesdale if he was any good. He either isnt or he wasnt up for it. Pires is better than Billings.
Healy cant play wide right, so Femi should have that cover position if Faz is injured aswell as covering for Coyle.
Robson is very bubbly runs all day and his passing was good. He would be the 3rd of the trialist i would keep if we could keep 3. He will get sent off and the red mist though but thats part of him. He was probably man of the match as last night his passing was at times superb. If we can only keep two then for balance sadly Femi would probably lose out as Sambrook can play Right Side covering Coyle and then Jordan can play left side covering for Stella and then we have Robson.
We need to stick by Jamie, he is probably going to have to let 1 or 2 of the ones he wants go.
PS Crackers and Cumbers both there last night in the training kit.

Looks like the match was played on a building site!
Lots of scaffolding in the main stand. I have absolutely no idea how the main stand has a certificate. Its like a ride at Blackpool crossed with a House of Horrors at a fun fair.
Friendly club and good luck to them, everyone has to start somewhere. If we play next year i am taking a stair lift and crampons.

Have only seen Charlton and Erith Town games so far so bit difficult to comment on squad additions.
I thought Achempong was very poor first half at Erith (although he was not alone in that) He looked more like he was playing his way out of the squad rather than into it on that performance. Sambrook is not everyone's favourite player but he is more than capable of being a "utility" man providing the budget goes far enough and he is not picking up too many injuries....
I think we need a holding midfielder when the manager is not available or decides to rest himself........If Robson fits the bill for that then he might be the one (although I have been told that Sambrook could also do a job in that role...). It is clear that Crackers and Clarke don't like the defensive side of things as you could have driven a bus through the centre of midfield at Erith in the first half.
Forward areas seem more than adequately covered.
I guess we will know more after Daisy gets his budget confirmed shortly.

He played well at right back at Canvey so he is another who can play more than one position.

Not Darryl or Darren but Daryl.
As far as I am aware Mr Websdale is still chairman but when Jamie Day refers to the Chairman he is actually meaning Barrie and Barry. He should really say thhe owners but I doubt that the make up of the hierarchy at Welling is his main concern!!
