Why comment now on an article that came out in August?
Perhaps to deliberately confuse the situation. The £15,000 mentioned in the article was NOT paid but became the opening balance in the appeal fund account which grew sufficiently to clear the petition debt.
Now if a similar article came out under today's date that really would warrant headline treatment.
