starting line-up is Mitten, Coyle, Obersteller, Day, Andrews, Parkinson, Cumbers, Sambrook, Whitnell, Pugh, Billings.

Looks to be an attacking line-up. Potential for plenty of goals (at both ends?) I think.

comical defending by us. Cleared off line twice. Nearly own goal. Come on Welling, not at our best today.

Well we are one nil up at half time and it's nice to be winning when we're not playing well.

However, the shape of the team is not good today. The defence looks ok, apart from some bizarre defending just before half time. I think we need Healy on, and perhaps Billings off. Might shore up the middle a bit. Also, try as I might, I still don't see Parkinson as a midfielder, but I could be in a minority of one there. He makes too many defender-style last ditch challenges in places where it's not needed. Pointless, silly booking in the first half.

Femi on for Coyle at start of second half. It'll be interesting to see what difference that makes.

two nil. Pugh.
Lovely run and pass from Healy and curled into top corner beautifully by Pugh.

Penalty to Lewes. Striker clumsily hauled over by Femi.

Dont think Femi did a lot wrong, then the striker went down like a sack of spuds just inside the area. Lewes were awful, truly a poor team, if there are 3 worse than them this season i will be surprised. Shame as their Manager seems a top bloke and works for nothing at times. Wormull was slow and his legs have gone, not the class player he was for Dover.

Parky has been injured for 3 matches and has played through the pain barrier in a position other than his own, needs to be applauded and needs a week or so rest. He may get that this week if we get to sign Achempong or Crackers or Clarkey are fit and he deserves the rest. Good to see him encouraging the players and geeing them up today. It was missing on Saturday. Well done Parky.

Our passing was absymal , we must have given it away 30 times... until the second half then we passed it a bit. Our effort was superb, again Cumbers and Pugh ran their nuts off for us. Femi played well second half and has pace.

Great result 3 points is all that matters. They dug in. When we got the early goal we just wanted to see the final whistle as our lot were knackered. I always felt we could go up a gear or two if we had to.

Agree with Moo, shape was awful today but needs must we have walking wounded who all came through and got us the points. SUPERB!

Great to see Crackers back and Clarkey and Loick are days away too. Was that Anthony Achempong i saw in a Welling tracksuit today? If so and we have another squad member when the embargo is lifted then well done to Daisy and also Achempong for sticking around.

Now rest up boys and lets come out and get the passing going on Saturday, proud of you all.

And another goal of the season from pugh after incredible play by One Joe Healy who tore Lewes to bits with a run and pass to set up Pughie.

Lets be positive we stood up, we gave our all and we got the win and bounced back from Saturday. Roll on Next Saturday.

That ref was a first class joke, never gave us a decision until we were 2-0 up. Where do we get these clowns from. Was he from Braintree? Sod these East Anglian and Essex refs we get cheated by them more often than not.

Pughie just ozzies class in this legaue it was a great goal. We never got out of 3rd gear today and still won, I was looking at the sideline before game and we could put together a very good 5 a side team with the players missing and when they come back (hopefully a few on Saturday) the squad will only improve. Wining when not at your best is the sign of a good team.

to be fair JGFC the ref wasnt too bad today - we had a couple of shouts in the first half that were 50/50s at best and the penalty shout in the first half wasnt a pen

i think it was Parky who got booked in the first half for a late challenge and people werent happy but it was a late challenge and deserved a card - ref was onbe of the better ones today imo

Parkys was a foul, slightly late but he challenged when the ball was open and hardly made contact, card was harsh for me but any 50/50 they seemed to get and there were lots of little shoves by lewes that he ignored.

What was nice to see was we tried to play football most of the time today, passing got better after half time.

The challenge on Whitnell was the biggest penalty you will ever see he took his feet clean away. Not sure where you were but Whitnell went to shoot 8 yards out and was between the 2 and the ball and the defender took Tommy's feet away and the ball never deviated.

Nigel Lugg, i knew i remebered the ref. Hes pure and simply useless and gives us nothing and in my own personal opinion referees harshly against us whenever he can.

Heres some snippets on Lugg

HRBFC 4 - 1 Weston-super-mare - Match Report | Hampton & Richmond ...
Referee Nigel Lugg appeared to take the `respect` campaign to the limit as he issued six yellow cards, three to each side, mostly for verbal dissent.

Blog
The rub of the green does work, even though the referee tried to make a game of it today.? The less said about referee, Mr Nigel Lugg the better

Kentishfootball.co.uk - Dartford 1-4 Chelmsford City - Holloway ...
10 Oct 2009 ... Flanagan was one of six Dartford players to be booked by card-happy Chipstead based referee Mr Nigel Lugg as his last-ditch tackle sent

Kevin Wilkin - Cuil
Wilkin was also critical of the performance of referee Nigel Lugg, who awarded thirty-nine fouls and eight yellow cards in a competitive but fair game.

Class reporig from Moo-got it all right.

Comical with Andy Sambrook heading back for Stella to clear again if he hadnt done it well enough the first time. Cracking goal from Pughie after a great run from Joe Healy. He seems to be a better player where he is now in the middle and much better than when he was here before.

Only complaint from me today was the bloke in the new stand-fair enough we all give the ref a bit of jip and we all like a cus under our breath but the air was blue especially when kids were about-have a look at your self will you and I dont care who you are it aint necessary

I think its a players dad? Not sure which and may be wrong but one of the front men.

Hes quality , but the language did get a bit choice when the ref had 4 or 5 bad decisions against us. Im sure he would apologise unreservedly if he read the forum. A few effs and a c showed how annoyed he was.

He encourages the players all game and not just one or two.

Made hard work of it against a poor Lewes team. However, in the circumstances three points is what matters, well done for providing a few glimpses of what may come once we are all shipshape again.

For the first time ever for the Wings, HD for the entire highlights, not just the goals as in previous seasons.

Didn't think Lugg was that bad today which is surprising perhaps but I think it's easy to get a bit of a complex about refs sometimes. They can't all have it in for us! Parky deserved his booking, looked a bit leggy at times but showed grit as a skipper should. Not sure about not getting the penalty though one thing Whitnell didn't do was dive!

Ref was awful today, seemed to give free kicks to whichever team was kicking downhill but the linesman at the top end was atrocious - he gave Pugh offside in the first half when he wasn't even looking and his response to the crowd of "leave me alone" spoke volumes about what sort of person was doing the job.

I agree Spikey. I had a good view of the penalty incident and it was never a penalty in my book. Players stretching for the ball in my opinion. Players have a few days rest and should put on a better performance against Boredom Wood on Saturday. Pires should be back and I am looking forward to seeing him.
