Sainsburys at eltham allowed me to put one on customer notice board, but would not let me distribute in car park.
I then went high st some shops were ok others just not interested.
I then started on residents cars from well hall rd towards station halfway along i was asked to stop by some members of local neighbourhood watch.
How do i get round this ?

Hand them out at Stations. Move to the next street if they ask you to stop. Ask to put them up in a cab offices. Hand them out on a main road (By mcdonalds in Eltham?) try another supermarket?

Well done on what youve done so far.

Put leaflets through most of the houses on my estate in Kidbrooke yesterday (left Keith out ). Then today asked my local Post Office if I could pay to put one on their notice board. To my surprise in the current financial climate they refused. Glad they did coz I then found out the charge £1 a day greedy sdos.

Put them all over the car park in Crayford retail park! No-one seems to care down there and we can fight some casual fans away from nearby Dartford.

Me and my son put around 100 in most homes around Bexley Park tonight (need more next time). Also put one up on the noticeboard at Bexley Park Sports and Social Club where should be some takers. Maypole School also has one of the large flyers up on its noticeboard plus the NHS building on Bexley Park where my wife works. Lets keep spreading the word !!

Woooah

Hang on those at a meeting before were told we would get flyers done and people could deliver them, Russ did you or the club have to pay for flyers to be done or design and print them yourselves. Russ for those that didnt know about the meeting and therefore werent given the chance to attend.... What happened could we only get a few flyers done?

Is anyone keeping a list of areas that have been leaflet dropped so people know the area has already been covered. Its pointless if someone has done roseacre road and then someone prints 200 and does the same.

Could someone at least put the Flyer online so people can at least look at it, print and deliver?

Have we arranged a meeting for the near future, being that we dont have many home games? We cant afford for those that would go to meetings to not be in the inner sanctum and therefore not even told of a meeting.

Its not just on the pitch and in the clubs office we need to be organised, we have scored an own goal in not maximising attendance at the last meeting after the Woking game and we are not in a situation to do such things.

In my opinion the flyers are only going to work if we get them printed in bulk, the 100 I took after the meeting didnt even cover my road and I could have quite easily delivered 500.

The commercial guys at the last WSU meeting told us that they had a tame printer so we need to go via the club and get them printed at a reduced cost.

As has already been stated, to make people read  the flyers they need to have some sort of offer on them, this would not only attract people to the ground but most importantly would give us a guide as to how effective they are. If say we deliver 10,000 flyers and only attract 10 new punters them its a waste of time and money. This once again has to come from the club, to get money in you have spend a little in the first place.

At the last WSU meeting Sy brought up the idea of getting them put in the local papers, this would cover a much larger area and would avoid duplication, but it would cost unless our commercial men could do a deal with the papers.

If we have these guys on board lets use them.

There needs to be something on the official site so if people who get the flyers visit the site there is some kind of connection on there that follows on from the flyer. A donation link at least.

We seem to have a bit of left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing here. I am sure its a blip and there will be more structure and organisation and we wont screw up by not telling most people there are meetings in future. We have no doubt lost some momentum we can get it back.

We arent making it easy for ourselves here. If Russ, Matt need a few more on a steering committee to help. Then ask for the help and let people oversee areas of the supporters effort to take some workload off those trying to do it all.

More than happy for people to take some of the load, we did take down the areas that people were sending out flyers so we didn't duplicate.

We just need people to contact us and deliver on the promise of helping.

The next open meeting was going to be arranged after the FA Cup result and draw so we know where we are if we get through the next round and make appropriate date.

We do need to get this new account set up asap so we can set up a paypal facility and lauch Sponsor a Seat, with 1100 seats at £10 there is potential for £11000 of dosh.

Hello, I'm not sure who can confirm this, Russ or Matt maybe...

I can arrange for some more flyers to be printed if it helps.
I've spoken to Pat about the auction brochure and that is being sorted, no charge.
If someone who has artwork can send me some contact details, I'll be in touch and should be able to help.

Hi Cotswoldjim, Ive sent you an up to date version of the flyer.

If anyone else wants one please pm me with their email address an i will send you the artwork to print for you to hand out.

I would Place one on the forum here but got a prob with laptop at the mo. if someone wants to put it on here then feel free too.

Just a Final thought.. Instead of dispatching them all then going I need more. Keep a copy then you got one to print yourself rather than waiting on others as I cant keep asking for favours or freebies.

(last point was not a dig just a thought)

Or alternatively ask all the printers in the area to print 50,000 for us in exchange for an 8th of a page advert on the flyer or for an Advertising hoarding. We probably have some at the ground out of date and could get them painted over for £90 i think eric said.

Up there for thinking chaps and chapesses.

The people "in charge of the flyers" should get the flyer up for people to print it or source the flyers to have at the club for people to pick up.

Not a dig but if things are being done by people lets be effective and maximise what ever we are doing.

It must be over a month since flyers were discussed. Well done to those who have distributed some.

Lets get 50,000 at the club and get them out there with military like precision.

I have got agreement on 10,000 FREE flyers that we can dish out ... these will be ready within 7 days, and then we can have a co-ordinated process for distribution and make a real difference.

Along with the auction programme, i reckon i can get around 3,000 A5 and 3,000 A4 flyers printed without charging. I'm not sure the company i work for will allow much more at the moment.

Quoting for really long runs will get complicated with credit checks, etc.

Out of interest, is there a preference as to what size they are, if it's A5 you need then we can get more of them run than the A4 version.  If someone can let me know which is preferred I'll follow your guidance.

I've got the artwork now so if they're wanted, i'll get them in to PVR as soon as possible.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ask we Post on here I have just been on to someone to get them printed, and have asked for them to either contact me when finished or have them delivered to the club for people to collect.

When you say People in charge of the flyers all i had to do was the artwork, and send it to the various members of the forum who asked.

An as far as being "EFFECTIVE" I feel at the moment along with Patsy in organising.. band nite, auction Evening, finding advertising sponsors, designing flyers, getting raffle Prizes, finding donations, Along with Dave And JGFC doing Photo shoots, painting club signs and other fund raising ideas We have been looking into I'd like to think We are.

JGFC If I have got the wrong end of the stick, Then I apologise to you, but Patsy and I can only do so much.!!

Sy in pre season i did posters they were printed and then you did some of your own, ive posted flyers in the appeal forum re awareness and then at the meeting people were going to design some of their own and get them out there. I havent seen ONE a month on?? Is this effective?

Now i never knew there was a meeting so i have had no chance to see, print or deliver these flyers, i am not alone.

I have called on here for people to deliver flyers at the station... One person volunteered. I have no idea whether we have had 400 done or 4000 , i have seen Dogkilla and Lou Robinson say theyve delivered some, brilliant well done to those guys.

Its been said we are going to hit shopping centers and car parks? When? Where are the flyers? Whos organising it?

My point was lets be effective and organised and know what people are doing. If i and most of the fans havent seen one of these flyers or had chance to pick some up or print them then we are clearly not being effective. It isnt a dig but those that have taken the task of designing and providing them need to get the flyers "out there".

The auctions, gigs, get behind your team are all superb and people are clearly doing their bit and should be applauded. The shirt sponsorship again people clearly doing their bit.

We just need to be more organised and keep everyone in the loop and make sure WHATEVER we do we maximise the impact and effectiveness.

kevin has now got 10,000 in production. Lets have a meeting have a map there and get 20 people delivering them and reporting back and marking on the maps that they have flyered in those locations.

If we have to get 100,000 printed and fill the whole map in the borough then lets do it. But lets know what weve done and allow everyone the chance to take part not just deliver 100 here or there because a couple of people have been given access to leaflets or seen them.

Maybe this is because we ballsed up the last meeting and had a low attendance because no one knew. Should Russ or Matt phone every printer or Kevin? No but who is being given control of certain areas? Should the Commercial Managers be in control? i have no idea.

But my thinking is get a committee and have people in charge or accountable for certain things.

Yes we have had the WSU but as Matt said this is not the WSU?? or is it.

We just need to organise what we do and maximise the effectiveness. If people havent got a clue whats going on how can we be successful. Its not fair on Russ, Matt, you or Patsy to feel you have to do everything. We may even have people that are better at certain things who are doing nothing because the see other people doing stuff. This could lead to balls ups like weve seen this week.

This is not a dig just a feeling we need some organisation and direction and documenting what we are doing and then getting the news out to everyone.

Russ made a point, we have people who are experienced in Sales, Marketing, Design etc etc lets pool them and use the core skills in the fanbase and be organised and know what everyone is doing.

I am trying to seperate the Gigs and stuff as i see those will attract mainly welling fans and their family etc and have a max attendance of 100 ish. What we need to do to bring in NEW money is bring in the Bexley and local area leisure pound and bring in sponsors and advertisers and make people aware that Welling United FC exist and are worthy of peoples time and money.

The fact that something is being done doesnt make it the right thing to do is another point.

Just had London News on in background and heard about fly posting. The way I understand is if someone puts up unauthorised posters its no longer the person posting that gets nicked but the person/organisation being promoted. Obviously this doesn't apply to sticking flyers through letter boxes etc but though I would put this on in case anyone thought about sticking a notice up elsewhere. Don't want the club getting a heavy fine to add insult to injury.

Stay away from any Morrisons car park to they have notices about flyering and its deemed as littering where EACH flyer is fined. Best Bet is to ask first they may allow you to hand out at the entrance or even better ....

IF anyone works in a supermarket ask your manager if you could place a copy in each of the shopping Baskets. OK it will take a tea break to do so but they will get read waiting at the Queues.

At the last WSU meeting which was attended by the COMMERCIAL MANAGERS. I presented them both with the idea to get in contact with the Local Papers.

(A) It would be good to build up a raport with them for future events
(B) Have the papers put a leaflet in each edition

that way the Papers will do the leg work and if it ment putting ads in programmes advertising them then fine or a board in the ground.

Getting a flyer put in the paper or even better the flyer printed in the paper in a page feature would be superb. If Matt or Paul or the SVBT could ask about this it would be MASSIVE for the club and show support from the paper.

Obviously in the news part to reach all the residents, some may not read the local sports pages.

Hi guys,

I went to the Toby in Bexleyheath tonight for my normal pint of shandy and
dinner.

Asked the manager if I could distribute my flyers and got the go ahead in
the bar but not in the resterant, which was good as also got my pint free.

Not a bad nite at all.
