Have the club put a package to them whereby all could be part of a consortium. Obviously 100k of debt isnt easily cleared by one person. But the fact we have engaged several people in talks would suggest to me they could .... or a big enough number of them could join together as a consortium, reducing the risk of them all, and giving all of them a chance to take the club forward after the HMRC is paid off.
In the mean time i have put a proposal to Bruno who is going to put it to Russ, where we get a core 5 or 6 fans with a bit of savvy and some time to blitz the local community businesses.
I'm disappointed that we havent heard a peep from the commercial managers and i think we have people who can make a difference amongst us. The club seem confused as to what they can do or should do and thats because they havent been as business savvy as they could be and tried to keep it afloat themselves and struggle by. Its obviously been bloody hard work, too hard for them.
If we want the club to survive we have to do what is necessary before it starts getting brown pants time.
Theres a chance if we bring in massive money this way the suppoerters trust will get seats on a board and we can have some stability and future after we help clear the HMRC money.
This probably should have been done a month ago. Ive had enough of waiting.
If we get a friendly that will be a huge help then we can go and do a bit more. I know Jamie will be trying his balls off and begging to get a team down. We can get there but i cant see an investor signing to pay the dosh off unless one is waiting for us to reduce it then come in cheap and keep us all on tenterhooks. Im not sure id want a vulture to come in like that anyway.
PS Mark Fenton you will be one of the people on board so best you dont use all your holiday. Its nearly time to stand up and go do what should have been done 20 years ago, wake up the money in the borough and start offering a product they can buy into.

My fear is it might be too late. How long has the club been in ' turmoil ' ? We have owed money for the last couple of years I assume, yet still nothing has been done. It appears that the management at the club want to bury their heads in the sand and want the supporters et al to bail them out. There have been many people not directly associated with the club that have worked their socks off to organise different events, in order to keep our club running. These people are the backbone of the club. I want this club to survive, but to achieve that, the mainstay of WUFC have to look at the resultant contribution that they are making.
When I talk to other supporters and read this and other threads there seems to be this underlying tone of too little to late!
People may think me cynical, i think I'm a realist and what has happened to this club is unforgivable. 5 point deduction for not reporting to the league properly, not their fault.......ours!
When we all get paid, the first bill we pay is the tax. For most this is taken at source. Forget bonuses, ego's, a new fork for barry or even a jar of nescafe, PAY THE TAXMAN!!!!!!
You're right JgFc, what are our "commercial managers" doing. Is no news good news, I don't think so.
I think the time has come for the so called "vulture" to come in, if there is one. There is a bargain to be had with this club, and the way it has been run for the past few years is nothing short of negligent. (Advertising, sponsorship etc. has just not been happening)
I know the Hobbins name is synonymous with this club, but in the words of a well known football programme, "TAXI FOR HOBBINS"
Lets not all go for the jugular at the moment, its not the time or the place. There are a few weeks left but this is the call for the club to really bust a gut and go for it in the local area and wider and be seen to be doing it and active in the media. FFS we hear of maidstone this and maidstone that about their new ground and a take over, we heard dartford this and that when they were raallying to return to the borough. Its now our turn to hog the limelight and publicity and try and pick up some speed.
The clear fact here is no one will come to us and give us money and they wouldnt do that for any business. You have to go and wrestle it from them.
I get worried that the talks are proving to go on and on, id like to get involved and shake the investors up a bit and lay it on the table, at the moment we are thinking are they arent they.
At least if they backed down we have 9 weeks to try for other things to get the amount owed down.

That is why we have two Commercial managers.

Nine weeks to find 55k - we need help ASAP. Friendlies against top teams is the other option.
