Im gutted, he could have been here till he was 40 for me, He was prone to the odd balls up this season, he would probably hold his hands up (pardon the pun), but hes made about 10 world class saves this season so i think hes in credit.
Hes also been carrying an injury for over a month and hasnt been able to rest as we have no ressies or the ability to sign a cover keeper.
We dont know the ins and outs and the whys and there wherefores but if i had to choose which players would play for pennies while we were struggling then Mitten would be one of them i would guess would do it.
IF this new keeper doesnt work out then i pray we go back to Charlie on bended knee and after hes rested his injuries ask him to come back.
Good Luck Charlie Mitten and i hope we see you again at some stage, we have seen things like this happen before with players going and then coming back. Keep the faith.
Having said all that we have to get behind the players as we have always done under Daisy and trust in him as hes a very good manager and has the place buzzing. Sometimes you have to make hard decisions.
I would guess that Charlie is welcome behind the goal while he rests his injuries and he wont be needing to put his hand in his pocket after.
Cheers Charlie and who knows, it might not be the end.

Great shout fella and Charlie would always be welcome behind the goal - I'd sooner he still be in front of it He was one of our best players for ages - saved loads to keep us in games.
For me, it not just that Charlie is an outstanding goalkeeper - he is an outstanding, local, clubman too. Yes, he is prone to the odd ricket (as all of us are). But look how gutted he was with his error at Dover and how he has made up for that a thousandfold. I, for one, will always welcome back Charlie in whatever capacity - even if he is playing for Dartford or Woking!

The save at Staines in injury time was top draw and secured a win. Every keeper at this level is going to make a clanger or two - if they didn't they would be playing in the Premiership.
this is going to be a massive loss for us. His hands were more useful than Handy Andy's. I'd like to see us get in a goalkeeper with a good old fashioned Tash, all good keepers used to have a tash...name me a bad keeper who had a tash!?
