I assume Ade was aware of his limited availability for selection and that we have signed him on a non contract basis, paying him as and when he plays.

Difficult to have a view on the matter without knowing the full facts of his availability i.e. how many games and training sessions he will miss.  I am inclined to the view that he is a valuable member of the squad and I would support the signing.  Being a part time non league side means we have to consider the value a player adds to the side and be prepared to be a bit flexible in cases like Gledhill where there is no doubt about his quality when he has played.

The old grey matter has become clouded with age but did we not have this situation with Wayne Brown when we were in the Conference?

My only real concern is that the probable cover is the enigmatic Lew Watts who is still not producing what he has proven to be capable of in the past.  With the defenders we now have producing the goods and thereby sidelining him to the bench, and the loss of the captain's armband, how motivated will he be?  Competition for a place could be just what he needs but it could just as easily totally demotivate him which, in my opinion, would be a great shame.
