Been to last three games so fill like I can comment about current squad. Some fantastic players this year, Pires has immense tekkers and his hold up play is on a different level, Joe Healy can play football just on the wing and not up top, Lee Clarke with fitness is a dangerous man and for me the driving force behind all good things welling which will please wingnut me saying that.
The passing has been slick and we have created so many chances I can see why we are leagues leading goal scorers, as many have said Pugh is not far off banging in three in a game and if Parkinson does not get to play at a higher level hopefully with the wings then im a monkeys uncle. I can see what this means to Daisy as he goes about proving himself as a player and gaffer wish he would smile when we win though.
What I have been thinking about though is that in over ten years of watching wings even when we concede I believe we will score and we can change the game with the quality we have, I dont think that I have thought this way about a team ever, the last time i thought regarding a single player was Kedwell but i believe that anyone in this team can score. I hope that whatever needs to be done do save the wings happens soon and we can all move forward.
I have waited a long time to see Welling in a big league game and I hope more then anything we make the play offs at least.
This team has more Wilshere then Jack, bit like some I see off the pitch to.
I thought Clarkie had a very good first half but was caught in possession a few too many times for my liking second half. He has always been a class act and glad you have now seen the light.
I agree that this team has goals right through it. Pugh is a class act and even if he hasn't found the net himself of late he scares other teams and creates space and chances for others. Pires shows some very good touches but I am not convinced by him as a centre forward and I would prefer Q up front. Was very impressed with Healy at the weekend and Obersteller has been the stand out player for me in the last few games that I have seen.
Have to say that I still have reservations about our defending and we gave up far too many (headed) chances on Saturday. However with the firepower we have I am confident that we can out score most teams at this level.
Hopefully we will get the off field stuff resolved and this team can go on to bigger and better things.
