Lets say the investors still dont complete, Then you have a mad dash for a millionaire, Administration or you try and beg the HMRC.

Well with 3000-4000 minimum at Luton (Ave over 6000) you could get a deferal from the HMRC as they will see a chunk of money due. With possibly more via a replay or 2nd round game.

I'm not sure Luton fans will turn out for this?

I remember when we played Reading who only got 5,000 when their average was more than double.

The trophy's early rounds have died a death for a lot of clubs with promotion, play offs and the Fa cup much more important.

agreed

no offence to us but what is the appeal of going to an early round of a cup that isn't massively important to watch Welling United?

They get over 6000 i can easily see 50-60% of their fan base turning up. Its also their first year in the non league "Fa Cup". And its not like theyve drawn a team from 4 leagues below.

I can see the gate being around 4000, we should take 200-300 to this easily and add the Charlton, Millwall and other fans that will tag on.

And the good thing is their fans have been saying they will beat us and should 0play the ressies. I'd fancy a buzzed up Pugh Cumbers and Pires who were all in the League last year... to be up for this against their first team, against their reserves they would just destroy them.

This game is also for people like Jack Parkinson, who could have sodded off over the past two years but committed to us and has been rewarded that we have a good team and now a great day out.

Let them take us easily it will work in our favour. Will be good to see Ex Welling player Dan Gleeson again. Played with us Under Paul Parker?? on loan from Cambridge United.

totally agree with that last post - if they think they are already in the next round they will be in for a BIG surprise when we turn up in a couple of weeks time!

Possible we may get some Millwall fans as they are away on the Friday night to Swansea, however Charlton are at home on 11th to Walsall. However with our travelling fan base I think your 2-300 is a good estimate

Alright guys,

I wouldn't expect more than 1,800-2000 to be honest. We couldn't care less about this competition with the league our main aim. We'd play reserves/youth players if it was possible.

Our reserve team though would probably come top 10 in the BSP. I'd expect players like Atieno, Dan Walker, Godfrey Poku, Pavel Besta, Amari Morgan Smith, JJ O'Donnell, Alex Lacey, Lewis Kidd to play. Mixture of players who have played 1-5 games this season who are mostly on the first team bench, youth players and 2-3 regular 1st teamers in defence where our squad is lacking.

That will suit us still get 15 grand in gate money and an easier game and hopefully progression plus the money for winning the match off the FA.

Big game for us so we will be going for it.

Anybody heard of SR Education?  They run NVQ training and apprenticeships in football and their clients include Charlton and Welling United according to the Non League Daily site. It seems thay have just taken over Ilkeston Town (see Non League Daily site) and intend to go big on community involvement.  Any link with our situation?

From their site Bertie

"The London delivery team will be managed by Keith Levett who is assisted by Rob Quinn, James Mullane, Cyril Cornet and Gareth Pritchard."

Wrong ... Luton have not possibly saved us.

Our players have saved us. Without their amazing efforts so far this season we would not be playing Luton. It is them that are doing as much as anyone to save the club. Luton didnt make their name come out ... it was the Welling squad that got the ball in the hat to be "in it to win it".

I agree, it is the players that have done so well for our club and the whole squad deserve all the praise we give to them.

Ticket Prices now confirmed by Luton as follows:-

Age 11-16  £5
Age 17-21  £7
Age 22-64 £10
Age 65-74  £7
Age 75 +    £5
Under 11s free if accompanied by an adult

Prices are therefore little different from BSBS average so let's hope for a big Wings turnout.

Right well I'm definitely going now! A pound cheaper than a Welling home game, and against Luton :D That plus train fare for less than £30.
