Yes they were Naive, yes even the take over has been a **** up, these are normal people living a normal existance who shouted for help too late and werent good enough to make a business a success financially.
They are good people and have only fecked up through naivity and lack of knowledge and refusal to allow others in until it went tits up. The loss of Graham made things harder, i now sense he was good at going out and drumming up money and networking.
I know many people will be angry but its not like they were taking 3k a week out into a retirement fund is it.
Just everyone think for a second before you post anything or phone anyone.

It was run as a hobby and a wage for a family... If it was run as a business and a commercially adapt one then it would have flourished.
You cant have part time commercial managers or some bloke helping out for a few hours or non at all at this level , you have to use the bar all the time. To admit no one has been round teh local businesses and shops "for years" just shows the story. We havent even got a computer or wifi at PVR... ffs a pc is 200 quid and wifi £7 a month.
A community club will be a success IF we can get pvr for pennies and all get behind it. The crowds will be 4 figures and sponsors and advertisers will come on board. We need to get the council behind us.

sorry to be mr.negative but i just cant see that happening - especially with the council getting behind us
Of course a community club requires a good committee and also the council at least backing the idea.
No reason why it cant work.
We have connections with the council they just have reasons for currently not coming to the table, 1 is the past and 2 is being massively in debt themselves.

Agree with you there JgFc, always believed the family love the club. I passed the ground last Christmas Day and saw Barrie unlocking the gates to go in. Why? I don't know but its not many people including company owners who "go in" on Christmas Day. Whatever happens on Wednesday I for one wish the Hobbins family good luck for their future.
No Wingnut... they are wholly responsible for poor running of the club i am not saying they arent.
Ive always said we are commercially shiit and should do more than take take take (Weve even done that since the first meeting and via the wsu "donations to pay wages and paye")
What im saying is do not think the family walks away with millions into the sunset with your money... Some will be going spastic on here and posting all sorts of stuff.
The club had no future with the debt accrued, AFC Welling can rise like AFC Wimbledon and AFC Telford etc... in a few years you will be at this level and stable.

Im finding it hard at the moment not to vent my spleen at the Hobbins at the moment, If there at Whitstable I would imagine something will be said to them.
